Relevant passage: "It’s worth noting that the Smash Bros. franchise may not see additional characters, but I think the door can’t quite be shut yet. For Super Smash Bros. Melee, the developers included trophies in the game that could only be accessed by playing other games that came out later – such as Pikmin and Animal Crossing. I like to think that Nintendo could do something similar with the newest entry, but actually add full characters instead of just pre-made trophies. When the new Zelda comes out, perhaps a character from the game could be added as DLC if users pre-order the game or perhaps Waluigi could be available to those who purchase a new Mario Tennis or Wario game."

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has received a bunch of new DLC, including two new gameplay modes, for free.
From base building to swinging willies, here are the best survival games around, which include a couple of less than obvious picks.
I want to play as Reggie.
Sakurai playing Fallout 3 DLC's sounds pretty crazy to me. It's such a different game to those he develops. On the matter at hand, I do hope they decide to create DLC for Super Smash Bros.
No thanks. I don't want to have to PAY to download characters that are most likely already on the disc. Just give me a huge game, just like brawl. Fill it with a bunch of STUFF and make that disc worth the $60.
Unless the DLC was a major expansion (Ultra Smash bros) and was sold for $15-20, then I'll get it...bu no crappy DLC such as extra costumes, characters, and stages.
Or Nintendo can be cool and make dlc REALLY optional. What do I mean by really? Either play the game to unlock the character or whatever OR you can buy it to get it right away. Want Peach in a DOA bikini? Either beat the arcade mode on hard mode or pay $5. Currently, dlc doesn't feel optional imo. If I want to a costume, I HAVE to buy it. I can't just play the game and get it. Why do gamers just accept this? A lot of DLC is premade during the game's development, ripped out, and held off to sell later. I'd rather have those DLC characters in my game as unlockables and make the game FEEL complete.
I want a return of complete games and REAL unlockables. DLC expansions are alright in my book, but not costumes and characters for a FIGHTING GAME.
I say have new stuff be received when you scan a QR code like in Mario Tennis Open.
But I worry that DLC characters will mess up All-Star mode, but maybe that means something new will replace All-Star.
...and just like that... the magic was gone.
One of the most appealing things about Smash Bros is how it's a complete package, and you have to play it for hours upon hours to unlock everything, and a lot of the unlockables catch you off guard and surprise you. DLC takes so much of that discovery away if it's used conventionally.
