Next-Gen Face-Off: DualShock 4 vs. Xbox One Controller

GenGAME writes: "Controllers. They’re one of the key factors in any game console purchase decision. Do they have the right balance of features for all your gaming needs? Are they comfortable and intuitive? Do they come at the right price? With Xbox and PlayStation consoles, there’s usually not a lot of variation, but how the controllers feel is still extremely important."

I like the DS4 a tooooon more. The touch pad is interesting I can't wait to see how devs use it and the speaker on the controller reminds me of the wii which I really liked. Plus every SKU comes with a head phone!(like the 360 but unlike the Xbox One). It's bigger and looks very steady. The trigger are perfect as well.

Well I have not actually held the DS4 controller to say if it is better than the X1 controller.

But when I base the difference on the images and videos and other peoples reactions, it is safe to say that the DS4 is a better controller.

The LightBar and TouchPad are definitely the best additions to the DS4 and add a lot of possibilities for the developers and same are already utilizing these features. The L2 and R2 triggers are a big improvement and so is the sticks.

The X1 has some nice features like the magnetic triggers and the vibration in the triggers, that is quite cool.

But in the end the PS4 has the most improvements and additions

Im curious on what will developers do with the touchpad. Maybe it will turn out to be a success or it might turn out like the Sixaxis feature in the DS3 controller.

Now for me personally, Im liking the Xbox controller mainly because of the rumble in the trigger buttons. Im really curious about this feature because it sounds really awesome.

NO it will NOT

Watch Dogs, Killzone, Destiny, DriveClub, Batman: AO and many other games are already using this feature. I quite liked the sixaxis feature when I used it on my PC games. Also the touchpad s a great addition.

Yes the X1 ruble in the controller is a nice feature but there is something I do not like about that because when I play games and the controller rumbles for a long time with out stopping, my hands kinda feel weird and they feel numb and so does my fingers so I am kinda worried about that

I think the touchpad would be great for RTS and MOBA games as well. Maybe we'll finally get some decent rts controls on consoles. It'll be great for non gaming stuff like browsing the internet as well.

I actually do like the DS4 a TOOOOOOON more, but I'm a bit biased against the Xbox controllers' asymmetrical layout, so I couldn't let that dominate the article.

Next year will be 2014 , and Xbox 1 controller will use and require AA Batteries for the next 8 years ! I will go will PS4 DS4 controller it's rechargeable and it will last for 38 hour ! That's what I am talking about ! That's a technology my friends .

Elit3Nick3958d ago

the xb1 controller can use rechargeable packs instead of AA like the 360's. IMO I prefer the option of a replaceable battery for extended wireless play instead of having to go wired or switch to a charged controller.

UNGR3958d ago

Rechargeable battery packs get worse every time you charge them. Why do people even complain about a controllers source of power? I usually get a special kit for all of my controllers that lets me drop them in and they charge. I don't want to change batteries all the time, but I don't want a life line to my console either. Fanboys seriously need to stop with this pointless comparison.

tracyllrkn3958d ago

Or when you get off the game, you can charge it. So when you get back on, it'll be fully charged.

aNDROiD17_3958d ago

just by looking at the DS4, i can tell its going to feel amazing. and i dont care what the light bar does its just going to look really cool especially at night

NavydAd3958d ago

XBOX ONE 1 Controller is the best if its anything like the 360

ThyPizzaGod3958d ago

Im very curious as to see What the 40+ enhancements on the X1 controller are. The DS4 already looks comfortable. Too have the controllers in my hands will be my final verdict. Excited!

Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster Review – An Epic Tale Of Pixelated Portrayals

Gary Green said: We’re finding ourselves in a similar position with the Pixel Remaster edition of Final Fantasy IV as we were with Final Fantasy III since, once again, we’ve received a slightly upscaled, more vibrant port of the original game when there’s already an expanded 3D remake available. As such, we’re playing a game which, even after its long-awaited release, still lives very much in the shadow of its remake.

If only they didn't screw ps4 owners over with a physical release. I'd have ran through this in a heartbeat.

The first one I played, it was the one that made me fall in love with JRPGs and is still my favorite to this day. A masterpiece
