gamrReview's Jake Weston: "Microsoft’s E3 presentation didn’t clear up any anxieties or uncertainties surrounding Xbox One’s DRM or its stance against used games, which will likely remain an ominous shadow over everything surrounding the system until its launch this Fall. The official price, a whopping $499, didn’t help much either. However, with a dedicated focus on “core” games, and a surprising lack of Kinect, Microsoft’s E3 conference showed that it’s going to take games seriously in the future. The Xbox One has had its fair share of controversies in its short time in the public consciousness, but hopefully lack of quality games won’t be one of them."
Does it still hold up in 2024?
We've still got a few months to go, but October marks the 10-year anniversary of this Insomniac Games title, with the developer having since moved on to work on the Marvel's Spider-Man games for PlayStation. It was assumed that Sunset Overdrive might make its way to other platforms eventually, but that hasn't happened as of yet.
So beloved that it sold so well that there's a sequel and Insomniac never had the opportunity to go back to Sony to develop games exclusively for Sony.
Not beloved enough for Xbox owners to buy it apparently, Xbox was the worst possible audience for that game.
Insomniac: “We went with Microsoft because we want to own the IP so it’s ours”
Microsoft: *owns publishing rights preventing the studio to re-release the original game, make a remaster, remake, any DLC, massive expansions and multiple sequels on other platforms*
The logic is just…I never got it
Owning the IP was Insomniacs main defence when they announced they were making a game exclusively for MS and yet they’ve ended up “owning” an IP they can’t do anything with.
If they went with Sony like normal you might have seen a sequel by now.
Sadly this may never get the proper fps update it deserves on XB (or even PS) but I now play it on steam and it definitely feels better at 60fps than it did at 30. Its a fast paced game... you need that 60fps in this one.
While there’s likely already a list behind closed doors, one can still speculate and offer logical suggestions for titles new and old that should find their way into the PlayStation and Switch libraries.
Some of these seem to be exclusive for lack of enthusiasm of the publisher rather than because of deals. A lot of cool indies skip ps for some reason like katana zero, el paso, elsewhere and gunbrela
They really think PlayStation fans would want to play Redfall? Pfft.
Personally nothing on that list would be any game I’d want to play.
I’d absolutely love Hellblade 2, Palworld, and Quantum Break on ps5 as I’m sure tons of others would too. There’s nothing wrong with wanting games from another console and its sad that people try to act like they aren’t interested in them.
Sunset Overdrive makes very good sense. Palworld might.
Don't know about the others. Hellblade II does make sense given the original launched on PS4 first. Quantum Break was a massive letdown for me. I absolutely hated the whole TV show thing and I don't think anyone should have to relive that on modern hardware.
For those who don't have time for massive open worlds or role-playing games with epic tales, these 15 games are worth checking out.
they don't care about the customers they care about them selves money hungry dogs...theres hidden fees every time you say Xbox on
MS was just T-Bagged by Sony.
not sure whjat your drinking, sony's show was boring and all multi games and the features are bland compared to xbox1, the drm is so miniscule that it means nothing and i would be worried why the ps3 is cheap, maybe not that powerful compared to the xbox 1.
