Xbox 720: 10 Reasons It’ll Win Console War Over PS4

Whatculture: With the news that Microsoft is going to unveil the Xbox 720 on May 21st, discussion over which company – Microsoft, Sony or even Nintendo – is going to win the console war has started to run rampant. We’ve already suggested why we think it’s possible that the PS4 could win the fight for next-gen supremacy, but given that we’ve yet to see anything from Microsoft yet, it seems a tad unfair to call the fight before the behemoths have all squared off. In just a few short weeks, we’ll have all the answers, when Microsoft lifts the curtain on their latest games console.

Still, it’s fun to play Devil’s Advocate and speculate on just why they’re going to blow Sony out of the water. Here are 10 reasons why Micoroft are destined to win the console war…

Two generations Sony was clearly leading, so yeah, this gen has had no clear "winner" just console makers struggling to make a profit.

I recently haven't been seeing eye to eye with @Mars but he is right.

I also believe Sony and MS will struggle to make a profit going on next gen.

Its clear signs that Sony and MS will be pretty even in specs and quality in first party games. With Sony releasing "right away" rather than later it should really even things up for Sony going on next gen.

Both of MS and Sony's first party and third party stables are locked in ready.

And the fanboys will be too...
Get ready for a new generation of trolling amongst gamers.

10:Wii U floudering (It just means the number one spot is up for grabs

9:Microsoft's track record (Microsoft though this gen and the previous has been outsold by Sony)

8: Cheaper (now prices have been anounced)

7: Superior Online (This is debatable I have a LIVE sub and I can honestly say there is no difference. There aren't even dedicated servers in most of their exlcusives)

6: Good things come to those who wait (same thing can be said about any system)

5: Blu-ray (Ps4 will offer this too or you can just purchase a ps3?)

4: Exclusive content (You're joking right? Sony losing exclusive to Microsoft? Doubtful)

3: More comfortable controller (this is only for shooters. Fighting game player actually prefer DualShock because of the D-pad/ personal preference)

2:Easy to develop (Both system are using APUs)

1: Kinect (it had it's moment but ultimately because a "dust collecting" peripheral)

Would think that #9 applied towards hardware reliability. That if that they cheap out with the BR or have another certain "issues", especially early and widespread one, they aren't going to be coming back from it. Not when they're putting themselves out under "convenience".

Ummmm the main thing that should be on the freaking list and considered for why the Xbox 720 will win the console war over the PS4, is GAMES. WHY IS THAT NOT ON THE LIST? Never mind, PS4 is getting my money anyway.

For the record, whoever wrote this opinion piece please know, "GAMES" is to be considered if we are talking about a "GAMING CONSOLE". Everything else is just secondary.

I have a bold prediction. MS will hav a spectacular showing just like PS. Both will have amazing E3's. It will be split at launch between fans. Eventually, beginning with hardcore gamers and trickling down, b/c of pricepoint many will own both. In 5 yrs, they will be about equal. Sound familiar? Is it on purpose? There's room for two and many arguments can be made that competition is great for the industry and sales.

IDK what MS is up to with always online or with new games.

I'm gonna wait & see what they got but like many others, I'm leaning toward getting a PS4 as of now.

I got a feeling that MS isn't the one trick pony everyones making them out to be. I think you might see a few tricks. Don't know if you'll see them on the 21st or E3 though.

If they don't bring the games then it'll make my decision much easier.

I will say, i like the inclusion of blu-ray on this list. Other then that, meh. I also noticed no mention of 'always on', continued 360 support (where are this years games MS?) or RROD <--- I'll NEVER purchase a MS console at launch.
