How Microsoft's ignorance and Nintendo's console put Sony in first place for next-gen success

PSU.com's Kyle Prahl writes:

"The sales woes and seemingly outdated tech of Wii U, alongside damning evidence of "always online" for the next-gen Xbox, looks laughable next to marketing that has cast PS4 in a favorable light with many gamers. Developers are swearing allegiance. Indie titles are coming in droves. We have jaw-dropping evidence of PS4's graphical beauty and a heaping ton of information on everything from system specs and offline play to social features and streaming. On top of everything, PlayStation Vita looks ready to find its niche as an essential companion device for the hardcore PS4 gamer. All this, before year's end. No wonder Xbots are jumping ship."

I seriously can't wait for the PS4! It'll be like playing the PS2 all over again :D

The PS2 had a stellar lineup of Japanese RPGs. The PS4 is going to have a majority of Western based shooting games.

Even Sony's Japanese studio is making a Western Style game. The PS2 was balanced with it's game collection. The PS3 will be dominated by Western devs.

I know it's probably a long-shot, but I think it's time to bring Kevin Butler back for at least half of the marketing campaign for the PlayStation 4!!!

As a kid i had some heart attacks playing this game. The soundtrack right on point with those close calls. I love this game.

shadowhaxor2h ago

Agreed. I still love it and play it often. Still sucks that Disney was like, nah... this game didn't do well, when it did well against other racers and reviewed well.

Split/Second was one of the game I enjoyed playing. In fact it's still the most popular video on my YouTube channel. It's a gameplay of Split/Second posted 15 years ago. This past month 25 people viewed it. Split/Second is a favourite amongst racing gamers worldwide.

That controller looks like a cheap knockoff... it should have been a proper DS5 design.

...the VR aspect in 7 IS the redeeming quality.

Abriael10h ago(Edited 10h ago)

what a dumb take.

Ace Combat 7 is one of the best games of the past generation. It doesn't need VR gimmicks to "redeem" it.

TheColbertinator2h ago

I have enjoyed nearly every single Ace Combat to death (except that helicopter shooting one) and have never needed VR once to enjoy it greatly

Look, I’m a simple man. I see Ace Combat and say, “Yes!”

Abnor_Mal11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

Can we get a new Ace Combat, with full vr and not just three or four levels, for PS5 and PSVR2
Also if we could get a remake of my all time favorite, Ace Combat5: The Unsung War, again with full vr for every mission with DualSense and flight stick haptics.
