Yesterday Japanese consumers were able to, finally, buy KH 1.5 HD Remix, a remastered HD version of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and KH:Chain of Memories. Furthermore, this pack features a collection of HD remastered cinematic scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

Chain of Memories and 358/2 have a lot of important stuff that lead into KH2. Otherwise you'll be Really lost at beginning of 2. You can easily find a videos of all the cutscenes of both games so you dont have to play through them all the way.
Wouldn't actually say Chains is necessary before going into 2 since you know just as much as Sora. While I do like a lot from 358/2, aside from a few things it's mostly world/character building Days came out after 2 anyway and would take a lot of mystery away. Maybe I'm just trying to simulate how I experienced the story but in that case I actually started playing 2 first lol. Cutscenes should be sufficient for sure.

I bet they going to release a KH3 on ps3 as well im gonna play kh 1.5 and 2.5 and get the platinum trophys. this is the most epic series ever. the music is so good. in KH3 it be cool if they had a star wars world or an avengers marvel world lol. imagine having to fight loki and heartless space aliens. dont forget guys playstation the king has returned. join us or perish. playstation 4 life!
:) still this is great that Kingdom Hearts is going HD! I just hope the versions we get are the Final mix versions of the games.
