Jonathan Blow is happy to work with Sony

In an interview Jonathan Blow, currently working on the PS4 timed-exclusive The Witness, explained what the PS4 should be all about.

"so the idea of signing up again with Microsoft isn’t something I’d have ruled out, but there’s a certain amount of dread I have about doing that again.”

LOL! has any other developers a side from epic, bungie and turn 10 has had a good business experience with microsoft?!? I have a very good feeling that Sony's PS4 will be the lead platform and main focus for games next gen for developers:-D

rhetoric doesn't impress me... also I'm sure I'll also be able to get it day one on the PC and tablets

Scenarist4083d ago

i dont understand... (im assuming rhtoric is the developer) they dont impress you
but your sure you will be able to get it day one for PC and tablet..

are you trying to say that the game isnt a ps4 exclusive (like it matters.. i'd rather more people be able to play)

or are you saying that they dont impress you but you ARE buying it day one on PC/tablet

He's talking out of the side of his mouth... he's eccentric, but that doesn't mean he doesn't understand the business or that the people around him are not setting this up. I grow tired of hearing the same stuff spewed out of people's mouths. He signed the agreement so I suppose it's his own dang fault.

(I think) Jonathan Blow said The Witness was PS4 console timed-exclusive. It might get released on the PC at the same time.

Jonathan Blow is not the first indie developer who have had a bad relationship with Microsoft. I remember Quantic Dreams David Cage also said something about that Sony gave them more trust, creativity space and freedom when they were working on Heavy Rain than when Quantic where working on Fahrenheit with Microsoft.

It seems that Sony is doing better with indie developers than Microsoft do.

Team Meat despises them as well.

Who gives a sh**?

I'm not buying a next gen or current gen console to play indie games.

People are talking up this guy as if his game sold like Mine Craft.

Come Join Me in the Cult of The Witness

The Witness might be one of the best games ever made. A fun, frequently frustrating study on mysteries, humanity and a love of true magic.

The Witness is pure brilliance. I platinum'd it on PS4 and recently replayed it on PS5. It's definitely an incredible experience that requires no spoilers so just let the island guide you. Yes, the puzzles can get tough but they are never beyond completion so take come back and go see other things. There is also a ton of storytelling and mystery in the visuals. The Witness is the first game I have played that really took my mind to new heights of creative thinking and perspective. This game is more than meets the eye and 100% a masterpiece.

100% agree! This game offers such a unique challenge.. growing up I used to think that Midnight Resistance was tough, then Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts.. fast forwards to Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Destiny's Raids.. but this game was on another level. And when you finally finish it you feel great satisfaction! Trippy ending too 👌🏻

Everyone should also try Superliminal.
