Is Sony Afraid Of Cloud Gaming?

Forbes - Last summer Sony placed a big bet on cloud gaming with its purchase of GaiKai, an online-game streaming service for $380 million.

It was both a bold move and a bow to an inevitable future when video games will be streamed from the cloud to any device, just as Netflix streams movies and television shows today. While cloud gaming is only now starting to be offered to consumers, it will eventually grow big enough to threaten the market for consoles like the PlayStation.

the being able to play a game while it downloads is not a gaikai feature its the extra chip in the ps4 i believe. Im not sure why they would include that.

NO, if they're smart they'll stay away from it because it's unreliable. Just look at the xbox and how cloud saves, SAVES not even streaming a game, keeps crashing and players loose their saves for an entire weekend. We should rely on cloud saving or gaming, as an option sure but nothing more.

Using xbox was a bad example. Sony has the same feature with Cloud saving and it works flawlessly and seamlessly. I think you could have used the example that Onlive sucked big time but from what's been said about Gaikai, even before Sony bought it, it seems like the real deal. Too bad I never had the chance to try it myself.
