"When asked to review Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, I was tempted to copy and paste from my last FPS review. I still would’ve done if my editor didn’t read through my work to make sure I don’t plagiarize myself—damn journalistic integrity. But after a night (or at least the four hours that I was conscious until the meds kicked in) with a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, which shall henceforth be called CODBO2 because it’s a name longer than the flippin’ game, proved to me that Activision is making some tentative progress. It’s at a snail’s pace admittedly, but it’s still there."
Following the Wii U and 3DS servers being taken offline, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Ghosts are officially dead.
Call of Duty players are jumping into Black Ops 2 for the final time before its Wii U servers go offline for good.
GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 leap up due to summer sales
Wow, good games never get old I guess.
CoD will always be a beast of a franchise, and how awesome is it that you can just boot it up or pop it into your Xbox and play, MS BC is really a neat feature.
Finally, a decent review. The author hit the nail on the head with this
"America is very much presented as the benevolent, self-sacrificing world police. And the fact that it’s not even addressed but taken as absolute truth smacks of brainwashing. "
I actually felt really uneasy with this whole theme. You'd think that, after playing a myriad of shooters where the exact same propaganda is funnelled into us, I'd be paralysed to subsequent attempts doing the same but with Black Ops 2's poor attempt to be objective, the whole thing reeked of shameless patriotism which only served to undermine the quality of the narrative.
I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one feeling this way.
completely agree 2012 has been nothing but the year of propaganda games and movies
If you have a good connection and want to play a game that rewards bad connection speed and you enjoy horrible hit detection then I recommend Black Ops II
