WC - There’s no denying that it’s been a great year for gaming, especially with the number of indie video games that have enjoyed colossal success (such as Journey, Dear Esther and so on), but like any year, it’s also had a glut of games that looked fantastic, had a world of promise, and then failed to meet that promise, totally letting us down in the process. These ten games, either the latest long-awaited entry in an acclaimed video game series, a reboot of a classic gaming franchise, or an original intellectual property, all had the potential to be among the best games of the year, but either owing to rushed developmental cycles or a simple lack of fresh ideas, they were among the most generic, misguided and outright disappointing video games of the year.
Based on one narratively fitting ending in Mass Effect 3, Prothean squadmate Javik is highly unlikely to return in the next Mass Effect game.
He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
Like any console, not every release was going to be a hit, and the PS3 certainly had its fair share of stinkers.
turning point had a really great story / concept... it just was very generic in its game play.
Oof! yeah, Ride was a huge fumble they tried to market twice.
Haven Fall of the King was dog-shi7-tastic and should be a runner up to some of those.
I'd even nominate Legend of Kay. Heh Haze... there is no excuse for that one (just pretend Haze did not happen).
At fans request apparently.
i wonder if they looked into what a remake would cost and went "NOPE Remaster it is" haha
It probably has to do with what the producer had mentioned recently. The thing about not wanting to change the essence of the original (e.g censorship). So maybe remastering the game was the best choice.
Bull sh*t, you show me where fans wanted a Remaster instead of a Remake. I was more onboard with a Remake, I’m less excited just playing the same game I did before but now with sharper textures and better framerate.
Probably realised this won't do the numbers so didn't want to invest.
No harm, I love Lollipop Chainsaw but it's a bit of a niche title.
Resident Evil 6 is big disappoint game 2012
Its like Michael Bay on his worst day. Cheap F-Rate action. I can tell from the campaign of Cris alone that its (Poorly) over-written, like 18 Steven Seagal DTV rolled into one noisy mess.
Don't entirly agree with Sleeping Dogs. It was kinda disappointing because it was pretty lite on content, but made up for it because the PC version was pretty solid, IMO.
At first I was shocked Mass Effect 3 ranked number 2 instead of number 1.
Then I read "For the 20-or-so hours it took me to finish Mass Effect 3, the game was a near master-piece for about 19.5 hours of this play time"
Then it became clear that the person was only focusing on the ending and not the many other problems the story had long before that happened. Have to like that despite his apparent distaste for the ending he felt it was immature for fans to ask for a better ending.
True adults suck it up and take it like men. I once ordered a bacon cheesebuger and they gave me a cheeseburger without bacon. I complained and got a few burger out of it. Wonder if that was immature too, probably should had just shrugged it off and went "Well thats life, never get what you pay for." Can't say I regret the decision though... good burger.
Assassin's Creed 3 should be on this list. Sleeping Dogs, shouldn't.
