TheGamingLiberty.com:
"Ubisoft has sent out a new survey in which it probes potential routes of development for the next Assassin’s Creed title.
The survey asks a series of questions, questions that cover the release of Assassin’s Creed III, general satisfaction with gameplay / combat / sequences / story arch as well as probing for interest in potential features for a future Assassin’s Creed game. Other questions asked for interest in future outings with Desmond, the general interest in Connor returning for another title and even a re-visit to the Revolution/Frontier.
One survey question is directly engineered to find interest in co-op and specifically asks if gamers would like the “possibility for a friend to join the game in order to help” with missions, puzzles and more"
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag voice actor Matt Ryan has hinted at the possibility of the game receiving a remake.
Love that we just keep replaying games. Next-gen comes along we’ll get Assassin’s Creed Remake REMAKE…
People say they like the old style AC games yet when they made one nobody bought it. I prefer the RPG style AC games better personally so I’ll Skip Black Flag. Never understood why it’s so highly regarded in the first place.
Love(d) AC 4. Been replaying it recently, actually. Idk what their price will be for this release, but I can't see spending anything close to full price for it. Maybe years from now when I feel like another playthrough.
IGN - Assassin's Creed's focus on character-driven storytelling has been buried by its RPG sandbox features, and the series is weaker for it.
A rare W opinion piece from IGN.
IMO, Ubisoft needs to setup two primary AC dev teams. 1 would focus on and release character-driven OG-style AC games for OG fans and the other would continue the current RPG-ified AC style for current fans.
Release by them Bi-annually and alternatively. There'd less fatigue and a boost to quality.
I definitely appreciate 3 more after playing it again in recent years along with the Liberation game. Back when 3 was new I was still riding high on AC2 and Brotherhood so when I played 3 I felt a bit let down. Even the ship battles grew on me.
AC2 - Yes
AC3 - Urm...I don't know
I feel they kind of dropped the ball with AC3 and with the way the story went it just didn't make sense to me at all. I felt it would have made more sense lore wise if they had it so the Red Coats were mostly Assassins and the Templars were mostly the Colonists who wanted this "new world" as a fresh start for their operations, to build a country up they'd have full control of from the start so they manufacture the war as something else while really it's just a front for the Templars vs Assassins.
It just meant that since the Red coats lose the war it explains how the Templars have gained full control of future America and how the Assassins have slowly died out by then. This entire event would have been the turning point of how things went to s**t for the Assassins and how there's not many of them left in the present.
Haythem was a lot more interesting than Connor and he should have been the main Assassin of AC3.
I thought AC2 was the greatest of the series and it is but replaying it recently, I stared to see more flaws in the game. Basically every single mission is an assassination besides a few tailing missions lol. Still, the implementation of all the new mechanics were great. The smoke bombs, disarming guards, story, hidden tombs, swimming, flying machine, multiple locations, etc. it definitely felt a bit more special to me at the time of release though
Dunno about 3, the 1st act was cool, then i couldn't tell you what happens after that. But 2 was so good! The entire acts 1-3 were al memorable, whereas i really couldn't even tell you what happens in any other AC game
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake looks to be all but confirmed, with some first official details being shared online.
Black Flags is great and all but they really should have remade the first game.
Like I said Black Flags is a fantastic pirate game but it's where, for me anyway, it started to drift away from it's Assassin roots and felt like a new IP they were too scared to do without something attached. It's funny because they could have called this Skull and Bones back then or just "Black Flags and it would have done well enough to start a new IP for them. Sometimes I felt Black Flags was held back in some places because it was attached to AC lore, if it was a new IP it would have been fun to continue Edwards adventures in multiple games as he was a really good characters.
I like Black Flag but I also liked Rogue too bad it's not a two for one deal.
Wish they remade ACII before Black Flag ... or even re-imagined AC1
I never put anywhere near enough into Black Flag when it first launched.
Looking forward to giving it another go when the remake launches.
If co-op is added then this franchise is dead to me
It's bad enough you do AC3 with silly over the top patriotic vibes, lack of tempalrs vs Assassin feel to the game, some boring missions and horrible voice acting/development for the main character, Connor. Hell in my opinion I don't even think the multiplayer is that good, it's something you go on a few times then get bored of.
Seriously they are going to drive this franchise into the crowd, give us a Prince of Persia 2008 sequel, it ended on a cliff hanger.
Seriously this game dosen't need co-op, if they can't get a main character right, how are they going to write in two.
I rather they stop adding stuff and concentrate on refining the series. The series has gotten a bit bloated and a bit off track of what AC was.
I vote less attention to the MP. Who the heck buys it because of MP? Laggy as hell, at least IMO.
I'd prefer if they sacrificed MP for good co-op missions online. Missions that can support at least 4 players.
Yes, I would love this very much.
Series is already stale and milked might aswell kill it off completely next year.
