As Bioware recently announced another Mass Effect game, there has been massively mixed reactions from the gaming community. Xbox Reviewer takes a closer look at the Mass Effect universe and reasons as to why you should be excited for a sequel!
Game Rant Writes "Canonicity can be a tricky nut to crack in franchises with continuing narratives, and that's something Mass Effect 4 will need to contend with."
wow gamerant forgot mass effect 4 came out years ago number 6 and 7 were cancelled.
The new mass effect which can be called number 5 will not have any of your choices why you might ask?
Well dragon age keep were your choices from number one can been seen in number 3 got unplugged from number one and number 2 is finicky.
Dragon age on pc requires a mod to get past the server login and non of your choices get uploaded to the keep even the dlc no longer works sense it needs a server check.
On xbox i teseted this only though local saves i was able to transfer choices from one to too but 0 of one dlc would work.
So if the more popular dragon age series is in this state why would they care about your mass effect choices?
Oh and that remaster that was tossed out still has day one issues and number 3 is still hard to play on pc do to lighting issues and ram limits imposed from 2014.
My expectations for the next bioware 2.0 titles is very low.
Game Rant Writes "Mass Effect 4 will likely treat Mass Effect 3’s Destroy ending as canon, and this gives it an opportunity to explore a post-apocalyptic galaxy."
Destroy is the best choice. Bring the relays back over the course of a new trilogy, maybe right at the end of the first game. Say it was Cerberus, Salarians or a bunch of keepers that created a relay.
Game Rant Writes "Mass Effect 4 has plenty of opportunities to change a lot about the franchise, particularly in the protagonist players can create."
“Mass Effect 4 Needs to Make One Major Change with the Protagonist“
To make sure the main characters face isn’t tired with the released game?
Can't wait for this game!
So the same game plots or similar story arcs just told & seen Thur someone else eyes , as for the whole different engine hoopla it could be on the UR4 & would not matter cause the story will be dismal at best.
I don't see why there is so much hate towards Mass Effect in general.
I understand that the game might a bit more stream lined, and that the ending was probably one of the worst in gaming history...
That said, I thought the main narrative of ME3 was a blast, jam packed of memorable moments. It was probably my favorite campaign, or journey, or what ever you would like to call out of all 3.
Plus the multiplayer wasn't all that bad either to boot.
To me it's about the writers. Keep big boy Mac out of the picture and hire some decent writers who know what there doing and Mass effect should be good as gold imo.
Wouldn't mind starting a new and fresh adventure in the world of Mass Effect, it's one of the best.
I Just hope it's RPG focus is, well, focused on.
Does anyone know if you will be playing as Shepard in this one? I know it's early days, just curious...
I'm not excited for any of these sequels upon sequels, even when it comes to series I really like such as God of war. I'm just sick of the same old thing polished to a nicer shine. I'm just starting my first ever playthrough of Okami with the HD release and as much fun as it is it's kinda depressing because it shines a light on just what's possible with enough imagination and creativity and it just makes it clear how little of that stuff there is in the industry these days.
Please can we just get some new ideas?? I'm not talking about a single gameplay gimmick on which to hang another macho shooter or a few tacked on RPG-lite elements or morality systems. I'm talking about creating an imaginative and distinctive world that's exciting to explore.
