Umm im a Huge Doom Fan, but umm this is a complete waste of Money.... Im sure ppl have strong enough computers now and they can and play this game on a PC

It's not a waste of money for either console gamers. Remember, in reality DOOM 3 has never released on consoles. That chopped up game on Xbox was not the PC version graphically and content wise. Also, more specific for PS3 gamers, DOOM and DOOM2 have not been released on PSN in any way. Those are MAJOR classics to be missing in this day of having all the classics on the new platforms.

That being said, I don't really think it was worth the $40 I paid for it (actually $36 with my Plus discount). The $30 Steam paid was FAR more fair, and I really only would have been completely happy with the game at $20 in the state it's in right now.

It's lacking some basic options so it feels like a completely unpolished product. I know the PC version of Doom 3 didn't have co-op, but they really should have added it, but I won't fault it for that too much. But no control mapping, no sound customization, no custom sountracks on PS3, no display adjustments, no full screen for DOOM 1 and 2.....come on......no full screen? If Genesis collection games look good full screen, doom would looke fine as well, especially with modern scaling.

It's an essential collection for console gamers imo. It's nice to have. But it could have been a much better product with just some basic options. But unless iD were to somehow update the game with some basic options in the next week or two (which isn't going to happen, I doubt it will ever get updated), I do think people should get this game on Black Friday for $20 somewhere. It's worth $20 all day, even maybe $30. It's not worth $40.

And that's coming from a fan of DOOM since Day 1, and I'm not a DOOM fan that hates DOOM 3. I liked it except for some design choices which they changed most of in BFG Edition.

I've pre-ordered it from GAME UK store and they bundled in a free copy of RAGE: Anarchy Edition. 3 classic shooters and a pretty good open world FPS. for £24.99 that's a steal.

complete waste of money? not for everyone..I don't have Doom 1-3 on PC anymore so I got the ps3 version. And it's a blast. Complete NON waste of money
