With Jet Grind Radio, Sonic Adventure 2 and Re-Volt all being brought back from the dead and released on digital platforms this month, it’s certainly a great time for us SEGA Nerds. Heck, it’s almost like the Dreamcast is still around, right? Well, not so much, but while we’re still impatiently waiting for Shenmue 1 and 2 to be re-released, we started wondering how many Dreamcast games are available on digital platforms today.
We were actually quite surprised to find that nearly 30 Dreamcast games are now available to be purchased digitally. We wanted to create a living list that will always be updated when new games are released so you can know where to go to get your Dreamcast fix.
The following list shows each game, when it was originally released on the Dreamcast, what platforms it’s available on today and when it was re-released. Clicking the platform links will take you to the game on the digital platform where you can purchase it.
SEGA has announced Fearless: Year of Shadow, a campaign that celebrates Sonic the Hedgehog and his brooding acquaintance, Shadow.
GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.
The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive."
Sega had such a turbulent existence from the mid-90s to when they dropped out of console manufacturing entirely in 2001, it’s understandable if you’ve never heard of the Genesis Nomad.

RIP your great immortal games will live on from generation to generation...
I often wonder what innovations Sega would've developed if they were still in the console business. I can see why the Dreamcast was their final console swansong. It was quite the innovative console machine.
The only issue I had with the Dreamcast was their choice in media disc. The GD-ROM was horrible. One insignificant, barely visible, spec of a scratch on the label side of the disc could corrupt the disc, making it unplayable.
It's good to see the games live on through digital form. Scratch free.
