I don't think I've actually played a multiplayer game that had a "narrative" but I like the idea in theory. Of course, it doesn't add a whole lot, but I think it can still add an extra layer to what is otherwise just "NOW IT'S DEATHMATCH TIME KILL THOSE PEOPLE."
I don't need deeply nuanced characters and themes to take and hold a Crazy Kings hill. I need a rocket launcher AND FURY.
if the narrative put into multiplayer feels forced and unnatural, then I agree. but if the designers find a way to add it in a way that adds enjoyment to a game and does not feel forced, then i'm all for it
Hot feature since when? Max Payne 3 is the only game I have played in I think ever that had a narrative and it does it quite well...
NEED? Maybe not. But if done well, it certainly doesn't HURT.
