PSV - 88,026 (+427%)

I like what I see there...1st edition bundles from last week. Hopefully this week is a lot better though since it is actually released. But 3DS wow @ those numbers lol...handheld gaming is dead though right? /s

GribbleGrunger4444d ago

agreed. those are numbers of pre-orders only in America! no European numbers and no Japanese centric games just yet. next weeks numbers should see a huge spike in sales. the trick will be to sustain a high average for the following weeks. looking very healthy though.

Solid_Snake374444d ago

im glad its doing well, but why are people still buying mw3?

360ICE4443d ago

@Solid_Snake37
Probably because they intend to play mw3.

SolidStoner4443d ago

360ICE

wow somebody still plays that game? its probobly China or India... or something.. :)

Consoldtobots4443d ago

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS SITE STILL ALLOWS VGCHARTZ FAKE NUMBERS. WHAT A JOKE.

360ICE4443d ago

AND I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER

CarlitoBrigante4443d ago

Agreed, FakeChartz is one of the worst sites out there, worst 360 and Nintendo fanboys, they always put PS3 numbers lower and later adjust when official numbers are out.

SilentNegotiator4443d ago (Edited 4443d ago )

Another game with an online pass takes first place. :/

And ps3 has gone back to selling the most in the HD console space now that the holidays of blobjillions of marketing dollars is over. Shocker.

Gamer19824443d ago

PSV will blow it away eventually its all around a better handheld and has everything that makes ipad etc.. a major seller. As for these stats seems PS3 and its games once again are taking the rest of the market by the reins. They have been for a long time now yet people still insist they are losing? Anybody actually seen sales for FF13-2 on 360? 350,000 worldwide on 360 and a massive 1.6 million on ps3. 360 a shooters console that factoid there proves it.

Wanna see next week how the PSV did. Wow those 3DS numbers are impressive. NINTENDO: "IT PRINTS MONEY HAHAHAHAHA!"

Half-Mafia4443d ago

Nintendo are not making any money on the 3DS after the price drop.

MySwordIsHeavenly4443d ago

Are you sure?!? It doesn't seem like a very expensive system to make...

Dakidog4443d ago

Are they really taking a loss on every system sold, is the 3d screen that expensive? I have a feeling they're still profiting on every system sold.

Also Iwata has took a 50% salary cut.

Dakidog4443d ago

Not taking Nintys word on that one lol, I could believe the Iwata bit though, he was under a lot of pressure to fix the situation.

Hint:

These are only the first edition bundles. Try harder.

TheGamingArt4444d ago (Edited 4444d ago )

I would like to also see the first real Vita sales! I mean, these numbers are for the early birds with the First Edition bundle (if that/maybe a bit earlier). As you can see, nothing is listed for EU either.

erasure2424443d ago

Even those numbers for the First Edition are VERY good IMO... The official release numbers should be very good...

Razongunz4444d ago

88k on the first edition bundle isnt bad at all.

and they only counted 3 days worth of sales aswell, which is nice seeing as this is US only and only a small portion decided on the first edition one.
looking forward to see this weeks sales seeing as it released worlwide this week.

GLOBAL Weekly Chart Week Ending 18th Feb 2012

Razongunz4444d ago

yes.. it says ENDING 18th feb.. the vita didnt release in EU or AU before 22nd. so the 88K only count from 15th-18th which is 3 days in ONLY US. how can it count sales Global when it didnt release Global before 22nd?

those 88k are ONLY First edition ones..and US is the only who got first edition.

the only way that these numbers was from EU and AU aswell is if someone imported it from US to EU or AU, which is HIGLY unlikely seeing it released in those 2 contintents only a week later.

i deeply apologise if i missed sometime or cmes out as a stupid tard here now, but when it says ENDING 18th doesnt that mean that they counted sales up until the 18th? and the vita didnt exist in EU at that time.. or in AU, so they could only have been able to count the US first edition. am i wrong? if so please explain.

ronin4life4443d ago

It is global, so Japan vita sales count.

LX-General-Kaos4443d ago

You seem to be getting bent out of shape on an excercism type of level over the sales of the Playstation Vita. There is no need to try to convince the world that the sales are higher then what they say on this chart. Everything will be perfectly ok.

If it is bothering you that much then you should take a look at the sales of the Nintendo 3DS. Those are some sales that will likely put a smile on your face as you see great people succeeding.

There are plenty of Nintendo exclusive games on the Nintendo 3DS that can and will cheer you up and provide a smile for that angry face. Nintendo took on the responsibility to make angry gamers like you smile and they will deliver.

Have yourself a good day sir and i hope you pick up your copy of Super Mario 3DS land before then end of the day.

Rated E for Everyone

Yangus4444d ago

PSV - 88,026 global?

its not ture...

Razongunz4443d ago (Edited 4443d ago )

its 88k in US only from feb 15th-18th the first global vita sales havent released yet

these 88k numbers are only counting first edition sold in the US only from 15th of feb to 18th.

Edit: it counts japan aswell, and that would be like 15k from japan so about 70k of those numbers are US first edition

Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX

This could be fun as they make great tables. Go big or go extinct. Prime your senses for a neural handshake and step into the cockpit of a Jaeger. It is on you to cancel the apocalypse when Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX on May 16.

Mugen Souls Retro Review – Sexy Demon Space Adventure

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

ChasterMies15h ago

Some of these low paid video game “news” writers weren’t born before 2007.

just_looken10h ago

Here here

Those that were around before 2000's i am sure are like me that think we entered a world of non readers or those that follow without question.

I can not wait to see fallout 3 a goty game even though it was about water with non content until you add the dlc/updates then you got the performance/crashing

CrimsonWing691d 2h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker1d 1h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo1d 1h ago (Edited 1d 1h ago )

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing691d 1h ago (Edited 1d 1h ago )

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos22h ago(Edited 22h ago)

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

Gameseeker_Frampt13h ago

Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.

2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

just_looken10h ago

It still amazes me we got over 7 rockstar games ps2/ps3 but 3 for the ps3/ps4/ps5

Dragon age 1-3 and mass effect 1-3 in 7ish years what a generation.
