Ars Technica: PC gaming is alive and well, but it seems as if companies almost want their PC ports to fail on the most powerful gaming platform. We've compiled a list of a bunch of ways that companies can make sure their PC games annoy gamers, and if you bundle up all these "features" you may also see a loss of sales and increased piracy! So, how do you make sure your PC game pales next to its console sibling? Let's find out.
We were expecting problems with mod support, but there are a lot of other issues.
Not accidental, they want modders to stop modding their older games to force them to mod Shitfield.
Over 14 GBs and doesn't change much at all? What? Taking up that much drive space for a pathetic 'remastering' is shameful.
Par for Bethesda.
LOL people are actually expecting massive improvements or something? From Bethesda?? the same people who released Skyrim multiple times and the all look like shit? THAT Bethesda? are people for real?
The ps5 version doesn't change a ton but from my small playtime it's enough to make me want to replay it just to have it running at 60.
A side note to this my PS4 version no longer boots after it's "update" so I guess that's what it feels like to own a Bethesda game on PC
A voice actor from The Coalition's third-person shooter series, Gears of War, has hinted at a new game announcement coming in June.
Hopefully Microsoft will go back to the original story line and get away from that woke nonsense from the last Gears game Gears of Woke! But were talking about Microsoft so all the betting money is on more of the same woke nonsense.
While many are fans of the Honkai Star Rail story so far, The Nerd Stash believes that the deaths of Robin and Firefly no longer carry much weight.
Funny but true article for once.
But one important thing though....if it's a PC Port then it's already ruined.
Games should be BUILT for the PC first then ported down that way everybody wins.
Always BUILD for the PC!!!!
It's really disgusting that Blizzard is putting all these restrictions on Diablo III, I think it's really not fair actually and the things they decided to exclude are what made the DII so fun. I'm willing to bet Activision had a part in those decisions though.
"We want to give you our money, developers and publishers, so please stop punishing us for doing so."
Fu**ing smart.
I am going to repost my comment on another article from 5 min ago as this kind of NONSENSE keeps appearing-
there is no such thing as a port from console to pc, in fact, it is always the other way around!
Games are not made on xbox360s, ps3s, wii, ds's,
Games are made on pc's and then chopped, shrunk, and retrofitted for console specs (usually ported down to some sub-hd resolution, and pop-in, choppy framerates and jaggies are all that is left)
Even killzone 3 was made on a pc then PORTED to the ps3, and you can bet your ass it would have looked, ran and controlled better had it also been released on pc.
And that is the reason, when you look at any AAA multiplatform pc and 360, pc and ps3, or pc, ps3, 360 title, the pc version completely and wholeheartedly decimates the console version
look at bulletsotrm, half life 2 episode 2, far cry 2, crysis 2, fear 3, dungeon seige 3, homefront, bfbc2, metro2033, ANYTHING!!
The PC version will be infinately better, why??? It was made on pc!
* not to mention the pc can have about 20x more power than the ps3/360
So again, for the slow people who continue to spout nonsense, THERE IS NEVER A PORT FROM CONSOLE TO PC, GAMES ARE ALWAYS MADE ON PC, THE PORTED DOWN TO CONSOLE!
I'm not a pc gamer (mine's decent) but it's been getting better. since the ps3 and 360 released devs shoved away the pc for a while and right now it seems they're returning. i hope for the best for you pc gamer's :)
