Bethesda Softworks has today announced that Dead Money, the first downloadable content (DLC) for Fallout: New Vegas, is now available to download from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360. Fallout: New Vegas launched in October of this year, and has since been met with both critical acclaim and significant commercial success.

Nope PC and PS3 gamers loyal to the Fallout series get raped on this one. I call bullsh#t on too.

Blacktric4892d ago (Edited 4892d ago )

You should've called bullsh*t a couple of months ago when they released the hyper inferrior version New Vegas for PS3 which is full of performance problems and longer load times. Both Bethesda and Obsidian is the world's worst developers in my eye. You can't f*ck up a game like that even if you try hard. Look at Uncharted 2, the game has no install, has beautiful graphics, jaw dropping performance. And then look at New Vegas on PS3. 4560MB mandatory install, piss poor graphics and piss poor performance. Bought it a couple of weeks ago for 60 bucks and been hitting my head to the wall ever since. I invested 30 hours of my life to it so far and can't keep playing. It is fun but those hiccups and 20-50 second load times keeps me away from having fun.

After 4 years, there are still many developers who are lazy to optimize the PS3 games from loading from the disc directly. It saves the developer's time just shove the entire game data to the hard drive. It's not the developer that has to pay for the gamer's hard drive space.

If Sony is serious about making the developers optimize the game loading from disc, they need to enforce hard drive install as only optional. That way, gamers who prefer full install can do while others with limited hard drive space don't have to install. In a way, it was a good thing Microsoft enforced no hard drive from day 1 but has optional hard drive install for any X360 game.

HAWX 2 is even worse. The game box listed as 5GB mandatory install but the actual install size is 5.9+GB.

Wish i had live do get this. New Vegas is amazing and runs perfect on 360. Ive had one bug where kept shooting and had to reload save. That in 30 hrs is pretty good.

RAZORLAND4892d ago

got mine free. this time a buggy system pays off.

Blacktric4892d ago

LMAO 10 disagrees? Did you even play the PS3 version of New Vegas for God's sake? It's a mess. Load times ranging from 10 to 50 seconds, constant hiccups while wandering the wasteland, freezes that forces players to restart theirs PS3's. Add some of the annoying bugs to these performance problems and bam, there's your messy and inferrior PS3 version. Not gonna buy Skyrim if their "new engine" turns out to be as bad as Gamebryo.

I assume to be able to play Dead Money DLC, you better have a saved game before completed Fallout Vegas because the game gets locked out?

RyuDrinksTheDew4892d ago

outwar60104892d ago

and when pray tell does this come to ps3 gamers? WTF im not buying bethesda games again bug infested shit and then they pull this exclusivity stuff again

AssassinHD4892d ago (Edited 4892d ago )

At the very least I will wait until the inevitable complete edition is released before I purchase Fallout: New Vegas.

@below

That is very likely.

Akagi4892d ago

And it will STILL be buggy.

outwar60104892d ago

lol fallout 3 is still buggy with the some of the dlc being buggy as hell so f4 still being buggy 2 years on with atleast 6 more dlc released as buggy as the game is not out of the realm of reality

LunaticBrandon4892d ago

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv7210d ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

Kaii10d ago

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast10d ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM10d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife9d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit9d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife9d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!

Fallout Anthology Edition Looks Pretty S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

The Fallout Anthology Edition is coming to PC very soon, and is packaged with some very S.P.E.C.I.A.L. bonuses.

They included physical disc back then
