StarCraft II will be released on July 27, 2010. After years of speculation, discussion, screenshots, demos, beta testing, and probably hundreds of online and print articles on the game, Gamertell wonders if it'll be worth it.
Blizzard writes: "After careful consideration over the last year, we at Blizzard have made the decision not to hold BlizzCon in 2024. This decision was not made lightly as BlizzCon remains a very special event for all of us, and we know many of you look forward to it. While we’re approaching this year differently and as we have explored different event formats in the past, rest assured that we are just as excited as ever to bring BlizzCon back in future years."
How about you not hold Blizzcon anymore period. You fucking POS company. I really hope Blizzard would just die.
Microsoft has 'let Blizzard be Blizzard' following the acquisition of the veteran developer according to World of Warcraft's executive producer.
Diablo 4 storefront being a cash grabbing shitshow does unironically attest to that, kudos.
Okay i will be interested if they become old Blizzard but might as well be dead.
Shame most of the people that made Blizzard what they were, have already left a while ago.
Were you expecting Microsoft to hire everyone that had left Blizzard long before they purchased the company...
Microsoft has let the Blizzard company they purchased continue to be the Blizzard company they purchased.
Former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra recently suggested an interesting concept that has sparked a debate among gamers - the idea of being able to tip developers after completing a game.
If I had a 100% way to be sure that this money would go to a fund or a reserve dedicated only to the guys who develop the games, be them designers, artists, programmers and so on, I could think about it.
But we all know that this 'tip' would only end up in a publisher's CEO pocket to buy a new yacht, so, no, I ain't tipping anyone anytime soon on this industry
So they eventually don't pay their workers and depend on our tips to pay them like the case with waiters!
Is this a joke? How about the big wigs giving up some of their pay for their hard working developers.
It already has. If you have played the beta from start to finish and have been involved with the SC community, which I'm sure you haven't, in helping Blizzard make improvements on the game then you'd known that it already has. The game has come a long way since the beta started and the majority is satisfied with it.
I was in the beta for the last 2 months and it blew me away!
Depends on how hyped up each individual player is. It probably will, but we'll see what happens over the next week.
I'll probably enjoy the hell out of it.
From what I've played in the beta, not even close. They essentially just released the exact same game with a few minor tweaks and slightly updated graphics. Gameplay and units are pretty much identical and the feel of the game is exactly the same.
That being said, most Blizzard fans are idiots and will worship anything that company releases without being able to judge the game for what it actually is (I think they must have a missing gene or something) so I'm sure they'll all love it. I'm very disappointed by it, but judging by the million and a half first person shooters out there, and the fact that Uncharted 2 won game of the year last year from a million sites even though that, too, is just a linear 8 hour shooter just like every other game out there, people seem to want to play the same thing over and over and don't care about innovation. So I guess they're just giving fans what they want, more of the same thing they've been playing for the last 12 years. But not me, Blizzard. Not me. Dawn of War 2 has spoiled me for innovation in the sci-fi RTS genre, and I can't go back in time and play this outdated piece of crap, and I certainly can't bring myself to buy it three times either. They've single-handedly undone every bit of innovation that other companies have brought in the last 12 years by releasing the same game, and it will sell 10 million more copies than any other RTS which is just a damn shame.
