Xbox 360 Controller Motion-Sensing Add-on

Both Nintendo and Sony have motion sensing controllers, so it's no surprise that Xbox 360 fanboys would get a little envious; who doesn't want to play games by flailing your arms around? So it'll be interesting for them to know that Team X-Tender has developed a tilt sensor that comes with an entire replacement shell for the back of your controller.

Eldon36623d ago

but how many developers will actually support this 3rd party add on?

Lord Anubis6623d ago

who ever bought the extension should get their money back, there's a big delay from the moment he moves the controller to the on screen action.

TheMART6623d ago

And you know because you have it?

@ Eldon3

If I'm right, every game can support it, because it takes over the controls of the stick if switched on for directions, which are the same in games where you use it.

Why o why6623d ago

@ marti. Why would you even want motion sensor. Your full of it mate. Your first comment should be something like: Why would we need a crappy fad of a function, we the360 kings dont need it.

Xeoset6623d ago

" so it’s no surprise that Xbox 360 fanboys would get a little envious;"

It should be called "New4SonyFangirls".

Why o why6623d ago

There are fans and fanboys if you know what i mean. Sometimes looking at the articles and comments on this site make me feel like deleting it from my favorites. Your preference is 360 and mines ps3. i have friends with 360's and we talk smack of course but we KNOW that our comments dont change a thing only games and the fun we have playing em. marti should actually play a ps3 because his attitude is childish or maybe this is 1 big joke for him. Somebody with a preference doesnt mean they're a fanboy but articles will lead for people to defend their preference in a fanboyish way. It needs to calm a little

gta_cb6623d ago

you say it needs to calm a little bit, but you are saying things like

TheMart should say something like "Why would we need a crappy fad of a function, we the360 kings dont need it."

.... yeh well it SEEMS like your trying to get a reaction from him...

Ru6623d ago

Everything Always Is Ridiculous
The statement about 360 fanboys should read 360 FANS
and then the statement would be correct because every console owner would like every feature available on every console.....
It's human Nature or some shnit!
Do not Envy thy Neighbor.

StrboyM6623d ago

MS said HD wasnt necessary...then they added an HDMI port, then they upped thier HDD space... now they have tilt sensoring..I think they are building a..uhmm.... ps3..lmao

Xeoset6623d ago

MS said HDMI wasn't a big enough difference to add it. Userbase wanted it, asked and MS delivered.

Tilt Sensing is 3rd Party. Read for christ sake.

Nik6623d ago

everyone loves motion control. But games on X360 are not made for motion control so I wonder how well it'll work.

FCOLitsjustagame6623d ago

Sony said Rumble wasnt important but they are now getting it.
HDMI is used by a very small minority of the gaming community and adds to the price of the console. People said they wanted it so MS gave them a more expensive version of the console with it but you can still just buy the regular console if you want it.

I dont really see the point in motioin control. Maybe a few games it could be useful in and should have special contollers for, such as guitar hero. But mostly I do think it is gimicky and I would much rather play my general games with the regular controllers or a joystick of some type. It would be nice if we could get a flight stick with Ace Combat the way we can get a stearing wheel for driving games. Also it would be nice if there was an RTS controller of some type. But again MOST people buying game systems wont buy all the side items.

Numark6623d ago

yea, becuase we all know the ps3 was the first to have this feature...

And this is something that i suppose is neat, but nothing I would ever buy or use.

gta_cb6623d ago

umm if we want to start a war we can without people like you. but as we are talking about this, we could say something like sony said Rumble was last gen, but now there bringing it back.... hmmm... i havnt been keeping a close eye on Sony atm as i wont buy one til the price drops. but if you ask someone that knows alot about the PS3 and ISNT a fanboy i bet there are loads of things they have said then have said/done something different.

oh and like FCOLitsjustagame said

"People said they wanted it so MS gave them a more expensive version of the console with it but you can still just buy the regular console if you want it."

as for the story its cool, but i will stick to the basic controller (wireless for me lol)

As someone who has been gaming nearly as long as gaming has been around (since the early 70's), you'd think I'd be against this. Having grown up with all the major platforms and the whole notion of physical ownership... but I'm not. i embrace this as it is a revolutionary convenience. And one i know for a fact many (especially here) have not even given the fair chance to use. I get it... i was there too. But now i have a new outlook on it. It really is a hell of an option if you just want to play with no commitments. By no means am i saying this should replace traditional gaming, its an option. And one that people should look at optimistically as a way to compliment traditional gaming. There is room for both to thrive.

Zerobalance3d ago

I tend to use streaming on new games in GamePass. To see if I like the game. If I do, I'll download it for a better experience. It's so convenient & useful.

AMD is really building hype around their unique partnership with Microsoft to help and build an advanced and seamless Xbox ecosystem across all Xbox consoles and devices.

I wonder what she meant by "full roadmap of gaming optimized chips" though? Seems ambitious.

Next year´s Xbox Showcase already looks promising and exciting. Here´s hoping they deliver.

InUrFoxHole10d ago

They had best show 3yrs in a row. Heading for another

VenomUK10d ago

Obscure_Observer said “I wonder what she meant by "full roadmap of gaming optimised chips" though? Seems ambitious.” To me, I interpret this to mean rather than having a couple of X/S products for launch and a handheld there is a longer term plan to release new products with higher specs at timed intervals. I’m speculating of course, but this could mean a spec bump every year or two, so that even if the PS6 or Steam Deck Home is released a year after ‘Xbox’ Microsoft can release an updated model that has a higher spec.

Agent7510d ago

But Microsoft forgot the games.

KwietStorm_BLM10d ago

It's X3D chips for console. Everyone knows this. And it's been rumored in the PS6 forever.

Ganif10d ago

Correct.

"Sony's PlayStation 6 reportedly will feature an AMD semi-custom APU with a Zen 5 CPU and UDNA GPU, capable of 4K 120FPS and 8K 60FPS gaming. The console will include X3D cache and advanced AI upscaling technology."

I doubt that AMD´s CEO would waste her time making this huge and important partnership announcement over a tech that will be 7 years old by the those next gen consoles will be released.

Notellin10d ago

You should have just lead this comment with the fact that you have zero understanding of technology in the consoles and instead have a Toms Hardware online forum level of education.

Very interesting theory. Still not sure how MS would actually make it work.

KwietStorm_BLM9d ago

"I doubt that AMD´s CEO would waste her time making this huge and important partnership announcement over a tech that will be 7 years old by the those next gen consoles will be released."

How old is the tech in consoles? It's not a huge announcement. It's marketing and you know it is.

Obscure_Observer9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

"How old is the tech in consoles? It's not a huge announcement. It's marketing and you know it is."

Dude, what I know for certain is that a tech as old as X3D chips which is actually *older* than both PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, is hardly the reason behind this new partnership between AMD and MS to build new *custom silicon* for next generation of consoles.

And yes it´s a huge announcement since AMD is working closely with MS to co-develop custom SoC which will allow backwards compatibility across all MS´s next gen devices allowing seamless integration between devices and full backwards compatibility across all generations of Xbox consoles.

I also know is that this announcement don´t have anything to do with Playstation and their strategy with AMD for the PS6, so stop comparing the two pretending that you know what´s going on, because you clearly don´t.

If Sony is working on something remotely similar, that´s remain to be seen.

Fishy Fingers10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Some odd, deliberate wording, no branding, not 'Xbox consoles, Xbox handhelds' specifically, feels and sounds like they're building towards hardware that anyone can be used or licensed to/by themselves and other manufacturers.

Multiplatform software and hardware 'Xbox/AMD APU'.

Obscure_Observer10d ago

I guess you missed Sarah Bond´s next generation Xbox announcement this week, were she clearly states:

"I´m thrilled to share that we´ve established a strategic multi-year partnership with AMD to co-engineer silicon across a portfolio of devices, including, *our* next generation *Xbox consoles*."

But hey, I don´t think you´re entirely wrong, maybe MS will build their own Xbox consoles while licencing other manufactures to build and sell their own Xbox branded consoles. Who knows

BeHunted10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

I think you watched the wrong video. It's below the description, or you can watch it directly on YouTube.

HyperMoused10d ago

Shares vision....we provide chips for money, this deal will sell many chips, we will make lots of money...good vision

Christopher10d ago

The marketing behind this is so heavy that I worry about the actual outcome. Why are they just not showing us the product, why all this talking in market speak?

Lightning7710d ago

Probably because the next xbox isn't ready to release yet?

The marketing and rumors seem to be heavy out of no where. The rumor was a 27 release but it maybe it could be 26 new console launch instead.

Who knows.

Eonjay10d ago

There PR is alrways super heavy handed. No one is acutally buying an Xbox as is.
Also it is very early to be talking so much about a next gen console.

Obscure_Observer10d ago

There´s a lot of people interested on Xbox Next and its ability to run games from major stores like Steam.

We know that the PS6 is just around the corner as well, but so far, no news on what it might improve over the PS5 or PS5 Pro.

However, Sony already made public that their priority and actual focus is the PS6. So its not "very early" to talk about next gen when the very console manufactures are talking about it.
