Live From PAX '08: Fallout 3 Falls Out of PAX

The Exploding Barrel's Mark Fujii is live at PAX to report a massive disappointment with Fallout 3. Hey at least there were puppets...right?

QUOTE:
"Despite Fallout 3 being more or less the premier showpiece for PAX, hundreds of gamers were turned away from the Bethesda presentation with little more than a half-hearted apology and a Fallout cardboard decoration to console our broken hearts. While I got a chance to play the Fallout 3 demo earlier today, I really wanted to go to the presentation. What really irked me even more than the fact that I ended up standing in line for hours for absolutely nothing was the fact that those who did get to attend were rewarded with the Penny Arcade Fallout 3 puppet and poster which are quite possibly the coolest and most awesome piece of free swag at PAX."

Considering I have GTA 4 for the 360 and will not be buying that dlc. The game was dull enough as it is to the point that I still haven't beaten it. No way in hell I'm paying extra for dlc for that game

It's not Ninja gaiden II action oriented thank God. But the action is just right. Perfectly implemented and different at each and every turn.

This game seemed to bore many people at E3 as well (myself included) Graphics were great in all. But graphics alone don't make a good game. During the game play I was quite bored with what I saw at that time.

I'm not sure what they saw at PAX, but if it was anything like the E3 showing, then I can understand why people would turn away from this game.

Eh? The gameplay demos at gametrailers.com were spectacular.

Lots more dialogue choices than Oblivion (a surprise for anyone who expected something closer to it), quests with actual in-game consequences (wiping an entire town off the map!), minigames that actually make sense (such as lockpicking and hacking), and quite possibly the best melee weapon ever to exist, the power fist!

I wonder what they saw differently over there...

Edit: Oh, and while I remember, sticking LIVE FRAG GRENADES in people's pockets!

Looks like somebody's looking for hits. "Hey what shall we do? How about badmouthing the best game of E3?". Try previews from real sites like GameSpy or at least ScrewAttack not someone looking for hits.

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.
