EuroGamer: "The original hyperbole of the experience still dazzles. As the gaming world marvelled at a new 3D dawn, Final Fantasy 7's stentorian soundtrack, epic summoning spells and soaring storyline seemed to draw itself up to the huge potential of disc-based games and 3D worlds. Today, those achievements stand, as does the memorable geography of the place. From the undulating peaks that can be circumvented in an airship to underwater caverns, explorable only via submarine, Final Fantasy 7's universe is as deep as it is broad - and as unforgettable as it is divisive."
The tiny green slasher villain returns in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and is as frightening as ever.
The way it was handled was so dumb. One shots in melee...your teammates are to ostupid to get away from its attack. So you most often end up alone in a certain fight.
Final Fantasy 7 has come back under the spotlight thanks to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is it worth replaying the original?
Very much so. Graphically it's dated but the story and the gameplay haven't aged a day. It's still one of my all time favourite RPGs and for me is better than Remake in some ways.

9/10 IMO but if the graphics were updated then it would be a 10 out of 10 for sure
Playin it on my vita right now!
How many times does this game need to be reviewed?
^^^^That's the only thing you need to read. =)
I have fallen back into love with jrpg's after getting a little burned out (didnt help that there was jack shit for a few years). Xenoblade, Kingdom Hearts DDD, The Last Story, and Tales of Graces F all in a short time frame. Xenoblade made me remember the awe of a massive world and epic sci-fi saga. The feel of knowing i was embarking on a daunting 100+ hour journey. The Last Story gave me the beautiful scenery (stargazers tower) and the romance ive missed since FFX. Kingdom Hearts gave me an overly complex nonsensical story that will take 3 more side games to explain (and plenty of zippers!). I popped in Lost Odyssey after none of these (despite how amazing they are) scratched the itch that games like classic FF's scratched. OMG its still one of the best traditional jrpg's ive ever played. I forgot how utterly beautiful the soundtrack was and the intro was the best intro of any game ever. FF needs to go back to the 7-10 days. Il have to settle for replaying this game on my vita for now and Lost Odyssey on 360. Hopefully Bravely Default is awesome and gets localised along with Type-0. Come on square!!!
