Super hero themed media has, as if out of no were, became incredibly main stream as of late, managing to achieve some of the highest grossing movies of all time. Gone are the days were Marvel fans were forced to live in their basements keeping their comic books as their dark sordid secrets. Okay, I’m over exaggerating a little bit, but now that the likes of Thor and Iron Man are almost as popular as Justin Beiber (and it truly pains me to write that) it was clearly only going to be a matter of time before Marvel were going to jump onto the Kinect bandwagon......

I’ll open this by saying that Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth (Wii U) is a terrible game. Like, it’s REALLY BAD, you guys. Millisecond-perfect timing and the memorisation of several-button-presses-long combos are often essential to win, and unfortunately not everybody has enough time to spend shining up their Shoryukens. Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth lowers the entry barrier to the genre, ensuring that anybody can get in on the action, though its overly simplified approach may have hardcore fighter fans sneering “zero” rather than “hero”.
