TitanUp3654d ago

doubt we will see another shenmue at this point we might be lucky to get it but i highly doubt it.

does yakuza sell well outside of Japan? is it a viable option to bring the recent games to NA and other english speaking countries and territories?

waltyftm3654d ago

They are not the greatest of sellers, but they are great games, hope this helps.

Thank you for Gaiden. A great and short Swan Song for the series for sure, but I think it's finally time to move on from this once great series. As sad as it is to see it turned into the inferior gameplay of Turd Based Kombat in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator, it was still one helluva ride while it lasted. And while there was still so much it could've done, it is what it is. C'est la vie and all that jazz.

So unless the series gets back to greatness, there's another Judgement or Fist of the North Star sequel, KENZAN!!!! or any other type of game that harkens back to the good ol' gameplay, I'm out.

Enjoy mediocrity, mids. And as Captain Rhodes once said: "Choke on 'Em!"

Armyofdarkness121d ago (Edited 121d ago )

I agree, roundhouse kicking dudes into a Smile Burger full of people never gets old. Turn based is cool too though, let’s relax!

SimpleSlave121d ago

You can go ahead and relax for sure, bud. Nobody's stopping you. 👍

andy85121d ago (Edited 121d ago )

I will enjoy mediocrity, if mediocrity is most likely the best 'yakuza' game that's existed in Jan 😂

SimpleSlave121d ago

"I will enjoy mediocrity" Yes. Yes you will. It's in your nature. 😂

neutralgamer1992121d ago

ANDY

you have a right to your opinion but best yakuza games is subjective

andy85121d ago

@neutral I mean Like a Dragon got glowing reviews and this one seems like it's stepping it up in every way. If it's a failure I'll hold my hands up. Can't see it through

simple

please chill. We will continue to get proper yakuza style games. No need to be mad or hateful

SimpleSlave121d ago

neutral

please chill. Stop the odious N4G tradition of being redundant. No need to repeat what I already stated.

notachance121d ago

lol dude here thought button mashing is peak greatness

besides when you use kiryu in infinite wealth the gameplay changed to old style brawl anyway

andy85121d ago

I know right. Love the Yakuza series but it does get mindless button mashing at times. They changed it up and it worked amazingly well. And you can still play a version of the old combat in the new game with Kiryu. Best of both worlds.

SimpleSlave121d ago (Edited 121d ago )

lol dude here think having the game stop so you can catch up is peak greatness

besides there are plenty of other games more your speed. Not every game needs to cater to the slowest common denominator anyway

notachance121d ago

apparently you can't read either, did you see me whorshipping turn-based combat anywhere in my comment? 😂

I've played all mainline Yakuza on the hardest difficulty, doesn't mean I have to turn a blind eye to the boring ass combat

at least they made the boss fights cool

andy85121d ago (Edited 121d ago )

Isn't really about catching up or not being good enough for fast paced battles though is it. I've platinumed Y0 which requires the hardest difficulty and the brutal climax battles and I still appreciate a turn based mode. You do play up to your name at times, Simple.

Sucks to be you.

This game looks amazing and all Yakuza games are so much more than just their combat.

I personally love the turn-based combat. Can’t wait for this game!

TheColbertinator121d ago

The LaD and Yakuza games almost always deserve full price purchases. RGG respects our time and money with their quality releases.

YourMommySpoils121d ago

By doing that, look how sad he looks.

RhinoGamer88121d ago

I rarely pre-order games, Like a Dragon is always a pre-order for me. Need to support my boys.

RhinoGamer88121d ago

...it would take about 3-4 days without sleep. That means no sleep, no detours, and almost no side stories, so please enjoy the game bit by bit, without losing any sleep. 100%

Yakuza/Like A Dragon Dev RGG Studio Interested In Online Games-As-A-Service, Says Masayoshi Yokoyama

In a round table interview with Masayoshi Yokoyama, the Like A Dragon producer talked about his thoughts on DLC and taking the series to other genres.

X-23574d ago

Like A Dragon franchise with a online or multiplayer aspect that relates to main game would be great so long as they don't compromise the integrity of the actual game in order to do so.

CrimsonWing69574d ago

C’mon guys, Why would you want to ruin a good thing? I can guarantee you that you’ll lose a chunk of your fan base. Also, look at Square Enix with Avengers and Babylon’s Fall… just why?
