Cloud didn't have all too much character development. Though I agree Squall should have been there. He actually changed throughout that game.

Kefka being number one is spot-on though. That dude actually accomplished his goals, unlike most villains.

Both were one dimensional. The quiet, angst ridden protagonist never appealed to me. I hate in rpg's when a character continually responds to someone else with a "..."

I feel ya. I meant specifically throughout XIII. There are a lot of moments, especially with Hope. Example: Her admitting that she kept charging into fights because she didn't want to face losing Serah. And her feeling responsible for it. She opens up with Snow, also. When you understand how much she is hurting it makes her a much more compelling character, especially on a second play through.

I absolutely agree with that. It took, in my opinion, way too much effort to get the story. The data logs were ridiculous. That's probably why I didn't beat the game until the third time I bought it. Haha

Well something being interesting is entirely subjective. So I can't say you're "wrong".

That being said... She opens up, shows what's going on in her head. Not entirety different from Squall. Her closed off attitude makes a bit of sense.

But then again I actually beat the game so...

If you say in one of the sequels and not in FF13 proper, outside of the game she first appears in, then you're missing the point.

Yeah, those scenes with Hope are pretty touching actually.

I believe that people who say lightning has no character ark didn't make it very far in the game.

I put in 50 hours. Guess I just stopped caring. Got sick of having to actively invest in the story rather than have the story attempt to get me invested in it.

Wakka and Lightning? List=FAIL. Pretty much anyone from the cast of 6 could replace those. And no Bartz? No Zidane? NO GILGAMESH?

Though Kefka at #1 really was the best choice.

I really loved Gilgamesh within FF 5. The poor fool kept getting himself into a mess and getting his a** beaten over and over by Bartz. Also, ya, I agree, I get the feeling people really haven't played all of the Final Fantasy throughly, since the blonde chick whose name im forgetting within FF 6 is like years ahead of Lightning, especially after dooms day happens.

Celes's story with Cid and getting the team back together after Kefka destroys the world is one of the most dramatic stories in the FF saga as a whole. Oh, and FF6 has my absolute favorite FF character ever: SABIN. Mutherfucker suplexed a train!

I honestly don't get why Wakka was in this list. I was like, who's Wakka, o, right, the dude who had this weird accent and taught you how to play Blitzball, which I never played. :P

Auron is a badass, so he is #1. Then Sepiroth because he too is just a badass
I actually really liked Sazh in FF13, almost as much Lightning who I thought was a great character. No I do not think she needed multiple sequels. In 13 I liked Caius and Snow in the newer games because Troy Baker is awesome and who ever voiced Caius sounds pretty epic though it did not match the character IMO.
Wakka was a pretty good character he was sometimes childish but also at times very mature and respectful. He was interesting throughout the entire game.
I could go on FF has tons of great characters

Sazh is actually awesome. Some people complain that he is stereotyped, but I don't see how. To me he was a very credible father character, just getting his kid to the amusement park then stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Sad that he didn't get much screen time in the sequel.

You know what the problem with Sazh was? The dude literally only had 10 minutes worth of emotions throughout the game. Hell, I think Gilgamesh from FF 5 made more of an impression than he did. Sazh showed up, did some fighting, made a few remarks, and then got captured and then I can't even recall what happened to him at the end, but that's literally no way for a FF character to have so little screen time.

Aren't you mixing Sazh with Snow?

Sazh has a whole lot of screen time. All those chapters with Vanille. How she hides form him that she made his son a l'cie. How he has difficulty to cope with that news.

Snow gets kidnapped then comes back muuuch later, but Sazh doesn't.

Yeah some DLC regarding Serendipity. Nothing to see there really.

But he is in XIII-2 even without DLC' at the end, helping with the final fight string.

Quistis is the best because she's the hot one with a whip.
Basch is second because he looks like Brad Pitt.
Ashe is thrid because she stole the MC role from a bitch.
Sabin is forth because he suplex a motherf***ing demon train.
Shadow is fith because he's a ninja with a dog.
Auron is sixth because he wears his coat like a boss.
Kain is seventh because he's voiced by Liam O'Brien in Dissidia.
Tellah is eighth because SPOONY BARD.
Tifa is ninth because tits.
Anima is tenth because it looks like a fish-taco hybrid thing....

I'm actually surprised he isn't on the list, since Square Enix very much disagrees with the fact that he's not a great character. I mean the dude literally had a game based around him in order to explore his mysterious past, which I got to say, the gameplay sucked, and the story was not meant to be with the gameplay. However, besides that, his story was like 10x Clouds story and almost nearly at how insane Kefka was.
