Capcom makes new Mega Man character for Sound Rangers, a musical iOS game

Sound Rangers: Rhythm & Battle! is a new IP from Capcom for iOS. It's a traditional RPG with rhythm-based gameplay. The game is getting a special Mega Man-themed event featuring classic series characters and music.

How does releasing a rhythm based IOS game mean any kind of revival? If you mean if fans buying the IOS game in their droves then Capcom might consider finishing MML3, the game fans wanted in the first place over some tripe IOS title!

If they wanted to revive the game they would of done it, there was and still is a petition to revive the game for whatever that's worth(not much to capcom for sure). But Capcom in their infinite wisdom brought out classics like Resident Evil 6, fighting game rehashes, HD remake of Ducktales nobody asked for.

I wouldn't count on a rival anything soon. Capom lost what once made them special long long time ago. Soulless!

No, just realistic, when it comes to Capcom. They are by far the worst Japanese game company, just by abandoning it's base. Go look up all the incredible talent they used to have, and then look at their blatent disregard for their roots and ip's.

Clearly a ruse to make people buy a piece of crap iOS game. A cynical tease. Seriously people, just ignore this shit.

I mean, when Capcom decide to churn out fob off a few dispassionate, cynical butcherings of some of their most famous works (Onimusha Soul, Breath of Fire 6), I just think, this is a company who doesn't care about the stuff they made. It reflects badly on their entire oeuvre and it makes me feel stupid for playing those games. I play games, watch films and shows, read books, and listen to music, because I want to sincerely understand and connect with another artist through their artistic vision - that's what it ultimately boils down to. I want to experience stuff that only someone else could have come up with. However, when Capcom show such disregard for their past work, it makes me wonder if they ever really cared. Is it the case that the more corporate they become, the more the veneer of artistry rots away? This is what capital does to human expression. How we ever even let something like money come into existence I'm not sure, but it ruins everything. It diverts our attention away from everything but itself. I feel like an idiot for playing the Breath of Fires and the Onimushas because if the artist doesn't believe in it, then the work wasn't genuine or from the heart, and I was a fool for falling for the illusion that there was. Games have always been deeply corporate though, so this is to be expected. There are very few games that were made with passion. I enjoy different forms of entertainment and art if I know that the artist cared about what they created - it means there's something of value to be found in there, something important to the artist which when discovered, thereby represents a kind of understanding of that other person / artist. Did Capcom care about any of those games they made? Or did they just churn them out with little care and thought, their top priority above all things being profit? All the while working the advertisement machine to make us believe they care? It's shit like this that's made me more or less abandon mainstream gaming - it's a corporate mire of insincerity and exploitation. Indies are where it's at.
