Both Sony and PS have limited their preorder allotment so that they could have product on the shelves during the holidays shopping season.

I highly doubt that there will be 20… I have a friend that used to work at best buy and many of the systems would be set a side first for works if they wanted them.

so always take 5 to 10 off what ever number they say are setting aside… Special when they have sales on things in their flyers…

So many times we would go in the morning and they would be sold out of items that they had 12 or 10 of … Door crashers would be scooped up by employees…

So just keep that in mind when you try to go pick one up…

Preorder the system if you can…

alternatively i would recommenced people wait a few months the reason being is that there are no benefits whatsoever to getting the console on day one also that many of the features that will make up the bulk of your gaming experience like the online services XBL/PSN etc.. will only be seen and tested after launch and for all we know it could all turn out to be a train wreck. not trying to be a doomsayer or anything just saying it is wise to see the platforms in action before hand

Not having to stress about lack of stock. I did this last gen and it was stressful trying to find the PS3 when I wanted one.

That's actually great. When I got my 360 from best buy, they only had 8 on launch day. Some best buys had less than 5. There were several hundred people lined up, and it was simply pandemonium, as people tried to fight their way to the front of the line.

Only having 20 at each wont do much to stop the pandemonium, but at least 20 people will find the fight worth it.

The best buy employees I spoke to were not allowed to buy consoles until they were able to stock shelves with them.

thats why if your planning to get one off the shelves you have to stay away from the big retailers! I wouldnt dream of sitting outside a bestbuy or gamestop! Circuit City was my spot for the 360 but they closed down since then. I'd try a Target personally or a Toys r Us.

There's a BestBuy, Futureshop, Wal-Mart, Costco, Target, thesource, Staples and ebgames all in the same shopping block here. I'm expecting madness.

I don't know if they're all selling ps4 day one, but that won't stop people from trying.

They are only doing a few midnight openings for the ps4 according to their website. They will have 100 units for the midnight openings, with one store having 250. The rest of the stores will open at 8am with at least 25 units available.

I got my XB1 paid for at GameStop but I have to wait on line anyways because my nephew and parents want the XB1 as well. I'm going to start checking stores to see if people are lining up a few days before release. I'm hoping I can find the one store that people forget about and start a line the day before on the 21st.

The 20 is for the midnight opening, then they hold back another 15 for 8am. So it's really 35 per store.

If anyone was really curious. The best buys I've heard around Texas have the same amount. I work for a best buy. Had 90 preorders. Getting 109 in.

There will be a line for preorders and a line for the general public. For 20 extra consoles? Doesn't seem like much
