Still doesn't work beyond Lamar dropping you off. The second you try to do that first race, issues arise once again.

UnholyLight3889d ago

I sat there for two hours lol.

meanwhile I get notifications about one of my friends posting world record times for missions and races

:/ I shoulda expected it but I REALLY WANNA PLAY

UrbanBullet3889d ago

When I hit Start and highlight the online tab it tells me "Your profile does not have the correct permissions the access Xbox live functionality"? can someone help me out here.

How did Rockstar not anticipate this....they should of prepared better

LOGICWINS3889d ago

They DID anticipate this. They said this was going to happen. This is what they wanted. They need to see how everything runs when the servers are packed. They expected the game to crash for most people. Now they will make the make the proper adjustments.

-Foxtrot3889d ago

Wouldn't of been better to have a beta then so when it finally comes out all of us don't have to suffer after we've been waiting for it for ages

Audiggity3889d ago

@ -Foxtrot

Unfortunately, no beta test can emulate the sheer volume of server bandwidth that they are facing. They don't want to "overbuy" servers just to make sure this is smooth on Day 1, they want to make it as efficient as possible. Not necessarily to avoid buying servers/bandwidth, but in order to ensure stability no matter what kind of hardware is behind it.

There's only so much they can do. If we had to pay a monthly fee for GTA Online, then I could understand the frustration - but, this was 100% expected and is being dealt with properly.

LOGICWINS3889d ago (Edited 3889d ago )

Suffer after waiting for ages? You make it sound like you've been waiting for a new kidney for the past year and a half. Consider yourself lucky that GTA Online will be offered for FREE. Considering its an ever expanding world starting with 700+ missions (with more to come), Rockstar could have EASILY charged $10 so people could access the online aspect.

We didnt even know GTA Online existed a month and a half ago. I dont understand how uve been "waiting for ages".

You people are a bunch of impatient whiners. Is your life THAT devoid of any other activity that you NEED to play the most ambitious online suite ever attempted on consoles just a few hours after it launches? After four years, the community on N4G continues to amaze me.

JackStraw3889d ago

no beta test can emulate that? uh, that's the point of a beta. one of the biggest reasons for having betas for online games these days it to test servers. no excuses.

HammadTheBeast3889d ago

GTA O is part of the $60 purchase. I highly doubt the 700 missions are all different and varied, there's probably around 100 different ones.

They knew they would get tons of people playing, some preparation would've been nice.

Wow. It was a simple comment, bro. No need to be an a**hole about it...

@-Foxtrot

This could be considered the beta.

"FORESEEN AND DONE NOTHING!"

3-4-53889d ago

They knew this was going to happen and warned us like 4-5 days ago. Nobody listened though, I guess people don't read as much as they used to.

SeanScythe3889d ago

They were to busy swimming in the Billion+ $$ they made on the game. Then someone from the online team walked in and said "Hey the online for GTA5 is going live in 5 mins. Hope you guys remembered to buy the extra servers we needed over the last two weeks."

i think the only real loss is GTAV

OtterX2d ago

I think everyone and their sister owns the game by now. They likely want to squeeze the rest of the holdouts before GTAVI releases.

Profchaos2d ago

That game comes and goes from subscriptions so frequently I think it's expected now. Like rdr2 on gamepass Rockstar Games only last a max of 3 months On a service

MrBaskerville2d ago

Talos Principle is the real loss.

BanginTunes1d 18h ago

Facts that game is good as fuck I'm playing through 2 now, very underrated

Huey_My_D_Long2d ago

indivisible was pretty neat. Cute artstyle, fun throwback to older RPGs, shame its leaving but it is on sale often

shinoff21832d ago

Definitely. I e joyed what I played of it. Still gotta grab the physical at some point

Petebloodyonion2d ago

I'm not surprised by GTA V removal, Rockstar never allows this game to stay long on a subscription service.
They usually allow 4 to 6 months.

lodossrage2d ago

Yeah, they do that routinely with both GTA and Red Dead.

But it's because they know they can still sell them so they take them off and on to these sub services in cycle.

The weird thing to me is why is anyone still buying those games at this point? You would think after 3 generations of being sold GTA 5 that everyone and their momma would have it by now

RNTody2d ago

I fail to see how the loss of an almost 11 year old game that released across 3 generations is in any way a problem.
