Final Fantasy XV: Everything We Know

The 15th Final Fantasy doesn’t have a release date yet, nor does it even have a release year, but there’s still plenty of information floating around about the next entry in Square Enix’s titanic flagship series. What used to be called Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been in development for over seven years now, and it will be out for Xbox One and PS4 at some indeterminate point in the future. Let’s look at everything we know about the game so far.

No. It's going to be worse than FF13. Square-Enix doesn't make good FF games. Squaresoft did but Square-Enix ruined the FF franchise. This game isn't even FF it's Kingdom Hearts vs 3.

this game looks epic. Worse than 13??

pffft. I dont know what your smoking.

Well what never negative nancy. Squareenix may make bad games time to time-- but tetsuya normura have yet to make a bad one-- perhaps you should do some research nancy.

On a positive note-- cant wait to get a demo or something to at least get a taste-- normura created some tasty treat for *fans* to enjoy.

FFXV already put XIII to shame. In all aspects, just by the limited gameplay I've seen. It reminds me of FFXII, but much better.

A lot of people are already hating XV because they say like XIII it's "changing the formula". The truth of the matter is, the blood of FF is constant change to the formula BUT while still remembering the principles of Final Fantasy (Huge world with lots to explore, great lore, Chocobos, airships, etc).

While XIII had mixed opinions, I wholeheartedly believe Final Fantasy XV is change done RIGHT. It keeps the essential Final Fantasy principles like that massive world and epic story with traditions like Magiteks, while giving us new things like Real Time Combat.

Give XV a chance. BTW, if you guys didn't know, XV, in addition to the KH staff, it's also developed by a great deal of people who worked on FF7 and 8.

@kalkano

If that's what you think Final Fantasy is about, you don't actually know what it's about.

"I don't think I can make a good action game, but I would like to tell a story" - Hironobu Sakaguchi.

The key to Final Fantasy is telling a great story. Sakaguchi, himself, was all about constantly pushing the Team to changes. Remember, Final Fantasy VII was the most radically different FF at one point and it's success paid off greatly.

I love Kingdom Hearts, but I think I'm more excited for this game than I am KH3. After waiting 7 years I resigning myself to the fact that KH3 isn't coming out any time soon, and knowing now that it's being developed but won't be released for at least 3 years.

FFXV on the other hand has me excited in ways a FF game hasn't in years, and looks like it will break the string of mistakes Square Enix has made. And the fact that it will be releasing fairly shortly, and I can play it probably withing one year has me so excited!

AzureskyZ3932d ago

i agree-- im excited for kh3 as well but i can wait for that-- i want this game right away.

Getting weary of seeing the "everything we know" articles, regarding FFXV. -_-

Never played a FF before. but the gameplay from E3 looked sick, will be giving it a try when it's out.

HexxedAvenger3932d ago

Oh dear gawd! I sure as heck cannot wait for this!

I love the real-time action fighting engine. It looks really cool for a full-on rpg, being able to maneuver so freely and dodge and mount enemies.

The only thing I don't like is the character design. They look like a bunch of emo kids. What happened to the cool characters that were colorful and varied in style?
