Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Review | GamerHub TV

Almost a year ago, Capcom released a surprising original IP. The legendry company expanded its reach in the world of video games to release an open world hack and slash game that they hoped would turn into another successful franchise. That game was Dragon’s Dogma. Dragon’s Dogma was met with moderate commercial and critical success yet it still found a following. Now, Capcom is releasing a full disc expansion called Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. Will the new features allow the game to rise to success or descend into darkness? Find out in our review!

The games at least a solid 8 for wrpg fans. I don't even feel like that's an opinion.

I just want a PC version so I don't have to deal with the framerate everyone complains about.

BldyShdw4036d ago

Is that a normal concern? I had no problem with the original(360).

Bimkoblerutso4036d ago

...I had a lot of problems with the framerate in the original, and I still have problems with the framerate in Dark Arisen.

Plus there's STILL terrible dithering, pop-in and screen tearing, all things that could have been overcome with even a modest PC setup by today's standards.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVED this generation of consoles (this is not some console war BS), but at this point, they present a giant bottleneck for a lot of games these days.

I read the review hoping for a reasoning behind the 6/10.

1st off the reviewer put around 50 words per page and made the article 4 pages. Why? Probably Ads. It was annoying.

2nd They did little to describe anything. They said the environment was 'same 'ol same 'ol' and I don't see it. Everything I have seen shows the environment looks beautiful and interesting.

3rd They didn't describe anything in detail whatsoever. Talk about the new dungeons? Nope. The only thing they said was it was hard. They did as little writing as they could and without much thought. Where was the descriptions of the game to people who have never played it like myself?

Where was the REAL review on this thing? It is like the reviewer didn't even play the game.

Review Score:

2/10

added an agree and well said bubble. I went into this review hoping for some basic info and was met with nothing.

I thought the review was good.

You Can Now Get The First Dragon's Dogma For Less Than $5 Before The Sequel Arrives

Ahead of Dragon's Dogma 2's global release, the first iteration in the series by Capcom has been discounted by 84% on Steam.

If anyone is wondering the first one still holds up well to this day. It's fun

Grandia, Klonoa, and Parappa... NICE!

MrBaskerville179d ago (Edited 179d ago )

Grandia is especially nice, as I don't think it's available on psn atm. Wonder if it's a psx port or the Switch version.

If they didn't despise ps2, they could have added Grandia 2-3 as well.

shinoff2183178d ago

It's not a despise. Far as I've read their working on better emulation. It'll come.

LG_Fox_Brazil179d ago

GRANDIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Fckn love that game

StormSnooper178d ago

Is it good? I never played that.

crazyCoconuts179d ago

Been thinking of getting Teardown on Steam for Steam Deck play. Heard a lot of great reviews for it.

MrBeatdown178d ago

Played the first half hour last night. All I did was wreck a building but what a blast.

Elda179d ago

Nothing of interest for me. My sub is up in 2 weeks & I'll go with Essentials only for cloud saves & online. Having Extra or Premium is a waste for me seeing most games that land on the service are old that I've played already or old games I never had any interest in playing.

crazyCoconuts178d ago

Respect your opinion, just pointing out that Teardown is a Day One Extra release for PS, not an old game in this case. Gotham Knights last month was a year old.

Elda178d ago

I have no interest in Teardown. I bought & played Gotham Knights when it was first released in October 2022. Every month I'm always buying the latest AAA or AA games when they first release to play on my PS5, the very reason why Extra & Premium is a waste of money for me.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Alternatives – 7 Top Games Like Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate is a name synonymous with party-based fantasy RPG games. There’s still a stretch of time until the third instalment finally leaves early access. While you’re waiting for the gates to open and welcome you to Forgotten Realms, you might be looking for similar games to ease the wait.

anast303d ago

Some good games on that list.

FalcorMononoke303d ago (Edited 303d ago )

In my personal opinion, Divinity Original Sin 2 is better than any of the Baldur's Gate games.

Becuzisaid303d ago

Are you including BG3 in that comparison? Or just the first 2? The first 2 are tough to get into now, and I never liked the ad&d rules. The 5e rules are much easier to grasp. But BG3 seems to be just DOS2 but times 10. Haven't played it in early access at all, just going by what I see online.

Nittdarko303d ago

hilarious because the game that is most like BG3 and a game every DND fan should try is Solasta and its not even on this list
