This will be a nice upgrade from my gtx 680, provided its £600 max.

MadLad4032d ago

Exactly my thoughts. Wait a few years, the card will decrease in price by around half and will show a good performance increase in comparison to the original card.

ABizzel14032d ago

Why not just buy another 680 and SIL?

Save you money, and give you better performance in most cases than a single Titan.

MadLad4032d ago (Edited 4032d ago )

Performance will improve with the Titan over time. Look at the higher-end 680s of today when compared to when they first released.
Also, you dodge the potential issues of running in SLI.
I always recommend going with single cards if price and performance are comparable, personally.

@SlapHappy

If a Single Card can do what your potential SLI can at a similar price then yes I agree.

But 680's in SLI blow away the Titan in most cases and cost less.

You're better off buying 2 680's, SLI them, and wait for the UHD graphic cards (probably 2015), in which case you could sell your 680's for around $200 a piece and buy a UHD 890 or UHD 1970 when there's another leap in graphics cards.

Best of all you can do this now with 680's for under $1,000 whereas most titans are selling for $1,000+, and by the time you want SLI your Titan's the UHD series will be out.

I'm all for single card use as well, but when that card starts to peak (which the 680 still hasn't) then it's time to SIL until single card GPU's get another performance boost.

DarkZane4032d ago

Titan is so not worth that price point. Might as well get 2* GTX680 (4gb) or 2* GTX690.

ATi_Elite4032d ago (Edited 4032d ago )

HD 7970ghz CFX set-up destroys a Titan and cost less.

The Titan LE is still over priced and I'm not so sure it will blow a GTX680 or HD7970ghz away enough to justify the huge price.

jeffgoldwin4030d ago (Edited 4030d ago )

GTX 690 is already a dual card. So if you went sli with it, that would really be doing a quad sli. That is definitely gunna suck some power from the outlet.

CapsLocke4032d ago

This thing is overpriced as f**k!

Tr10wn4032d ago

This thing is twice faster than the PS4 GPU and paying $650 for it is acceptable especially when "next gen" console will cost $400+

pay $150 more and get 1080p@60fps rather than 1080p@30fps.

clintos594032d ago (Edited 4032d ago )

Thats $650 for just the gpu which is a ripoff.

"The GeForce GTX Titan LE uses the same cooler design as the GeForce GTX Titan as seen in the pictures. The GPU uses the same GK110 graphics core with 12 SMX units enabled, bringining the Cuda core count to 2304-2496 and memory to 5GB GDDR5 over a 320-bit wide memory interface. The GPU will be much cheaper than it’s older brother, rumors point to a price-tag of approx  $659-$759.&q uot;

Atleast u get everything packed with the ps4 for $400 to $500 while u waste $650 to $750 just for a gpu. Hey if u have money to buy it great for u but your average gamer wont spend $650 just for a graphics card.

iamgoatman4032d ago

"pay $150 more and get 1080p@60fps rather than 1080p@30fps."

These cards are meant for 5940x1080 at an acceptable frame rate though, they're overkill for just 1080p unless you need a constant 120FPS v-synced. So it's hardly $150 more for an extra 30FPS.

DarkZane4032d ago

PS4 games are gonna be 1080p@60fps, not 1080p@30fps.

The only game so far at 1080p@30fps is thief and that's because the devs said that only 30fps was necessary. So 60fps could be done if they wanted.

Tr10wn4032d ago (Edited 4032d ago )

@DarkZane and Killzone 1080p@30fps and bf4 will run 720p@60fps because it can do 1080p@60p on the ps4, get your facts straight, GG said that the ps4 is a beast if that is true why their FPS game is running at 30fps? everyone knows you need 60fps to play an FPS efficiently, is pretty much standard for PC gaming.

@Darkzane

Wonder how many more are going to consider it "not necessary".
