You Know you’re a Playstation Fan When…

There are just times in everyday life that you know that you have your ‘PlayStation showing’. If you’re a fan of Sony and their always hot gaming consoles, it’s hard to hide the love you have for PlayStation. Because we are so familiar with how it feels to be at complete awe with our gaming consoles we thought we would put together an article about things only a true PlayStation fan could relate to and respect.

With a brand comes familiarity. We've already seen a preview of the system features and games to come. I already know the type of games I'll be getting on the PS4.

It is not the same as coming to the conclusion that one system is better than the other. You can still prefer one over the other regardless.

I am a fan of Playstation because I have been gaming on Sony's systems since 1996 and have a ton of great memories. I love their games and their quality and they have never failed to amaze me. I also enjoy some games on the original Xbox and a few on 360 as well. I wasn't a huge Wii fan, but loved Nintendo much prior. I think being 27 and have played a ton of titles over the years, makes me a seasoned gamer and someone who knows what I like. I didn't start this or last gen so in my opinion, my thoughts aren't for an elitist one sided view, I just say what the ones and zeroes in my brain are thinking.

When you spend 80% of your game time on Sony exclusives. Yes exclusives still matter. Most my time is spent between Starhawk, Uc3, Res. 3, Mlb the show 13, Ni No Kuni and GOW Asc. Without these exclusives i would hardly be gaming.

When the first thing you do after you come home from work is turn your ps3 on and check your friends messages lol.

When you laugh every time you turn on your ps3 at the fact that you enjoy online games without having to pay a subscription fee lol hahahahaha

When you think Demon/Dark souls is one of the hardest games this gen. Also playstation didn't have the first metal gear, anyone who is a fan of Gaming,not just a console, would know this.

True, but it was the first to have Metal Gear Solid. There is a pretty big distinction between the two. I guess you could say that Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is the first solid game(although it differs on a fundamental game play level), but it wasn't released for any console until after Metal Gear Solid release(MGS3: Subsistence IIRC)

I don't really know if they're important. They're mentioned a few times in the Solid games. Been a while since I played them, but the first Solid game did kind of lay out what the story was going to be about pretty well, and character development was good.

I would really like a remake. I haven't played the first since it first came out.:) The 2nd though I didn't really care for too much, but both would be pretty interesting if they were remade with Solid's game play.

What isnt there to love about playstation. We get spoiled by sony. Same goes for nintendo & pc fans. We all get spoiled.

Cant really say the same for microsoft & the xbox brand. They dont get spoiled at all unless u consider being the only system that makes u pay for online and having the less library of exclusives an enjoyment. Kind of look more like getting used & abused is more like it.

I know its better to have competition but honestly sega did a way better job then microsoft when they had a console. Wish they would comeback & let microsoft go back to making windows. All that money but they cant even make their own games. Sega was more of a real challenge with great games.

Having WiFi built in instead of a $100 ripoff.as even portables and phones had it built in too.

Playing acurrate motion gaming without spending $150 for "close enough and delay."

Believe it or not but when ps3 first launched this site was ran by 360 fanboys and what eventually happened was they got tired of rrod & crossed over to the ps3 & now the dark days on n4g have converted into a home for ps3 & new converted members that now see the light in what they were missing out on. I started gaming with Sega Genesis on its late life cycle, then had the PS1, was completely BLOWN away by the 3D environments, my first game was MGS1 and RE1 and Crash, and i still remember the pain Psycho mantis gave me till i defeated him, 2 weeks of trying haha.
then moved to the PS2 and its the best console ever, had the chance to try the Gamecube which is an awesome console, also got the chance to play my first Zelda game on that system, incredible game, and moved on to the PS3 and i can say that the Playstation brand gave me the best gaming memories.

If I was a brand loyalist I'd have bought a Wii U, been playing Nintendo since I can remember and was supportive of Sega and Nintendo because they gave me great gaming experiences, now at 38, my experiences changed things and my Wii sits under dust. Sega dropping the Saturn support pissed me off and I didn't buy the dreamcast, I didn't have an original Xbox but bought a 360 when Msft made games I wanted and showed they are in this for the long haul. But steered more to Sony because when the PS3 came out, and even though I was very happy with the PS2 (didn't buy a PS1 right away even) I bought a 60Gb PS3 and swapped in a 160 Gb HDD. Found Sony still supported the PS2 with a ton of games where MSFT did not make Xbox games when the 360 was out. This time around I am happy with what I've seen for the PS4 and MSFT is very questionable with the rumours and the pay to play I had to do on a Gold Membership on 360. If MSFT doesn't wow me, then I'll pass on their next gen until they do, if they do.
