GTA V: What About A Female Protagonist?

WC: Loads of fans feel Grand Theft Auto is a game made for a male for a male. Women have been portrayed in Grand Theft Auto with a number of roles: wives, girlfriends, hookers, siblings, crazy (look below for Catalina), drug pushers, pole dancers or mistresses. There’s probably a whole lot more that I missed, but you get the picture.

But would a female protagonist not open up to more gamers who would like a change of the countless male characters in the previous titles?

I think I know why..

Because they have to re-write the entire script of the pedestrians.

No more hookers and such..

A female protagonist would not succeed. Why? Because of how close minded gamers are. Just look at the few comments here. This alone would make any developer cringe on trying such a bold move as simply changing sexes.

Personally, I would like to see this happen. Not only that, but given R* track record on previous GTA's (even more so on the multiple GTA IV's DLC portraying other main protagonists) I just know that they can make this work. But the problem is if it can sell, and sell just as much as any other GTA.

Or could it be because gamers are getting sick of this politically correct utopian liberal nonsense being forced down their throats just so some feelings of those who got left out don't get hurt.

I always preferred a female protagonist in my games.

@ doomedx Who says a woman can't pick up a hooker? They do in real life in case you didn't know that. I've done it with my GF & we've picked up strippers from the bar too.

I'm more worried about the rampages, mini games and other things that made exploring the games prior to GTA IV so much fun.

I also hope they lose the stupid cellphone. It never failed that every time I started a mission the dumb thing would ring and I would either have to quit the mission or piss off my friend.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
