yeah but with all the good people gone from Bioware and their games after Dragon Age Origins horrible who really cares?

Mass Effect 2 came out after DAO and it was a good but it was not Bioware standards for quality rpg they are known for. DA2 lol enough said there. Mass Effect 3, just after you think an rpg could be an less watered down they manage to do it even more and still pretend it's an RPG. Combat was worse than ME2 and well everyone knows how horrible the ending was then the mockery of an "alternate ending" or in reality a slideshow....un-needed multiplayer, broken promises, is what bioware has become. DA3 is already going down the same path as both DA2 and ME3.

I hope the founders that quit, the devs old devs that left and the writers that wrote the amazing stories start a new company and bring back the quality western rpg that is so hard to find now-a-days.

I said this like a year ago!

EA's business model:

Every Game was to either use the Frostbite 2 or be developed by Bioware or Both!

EA is going with name recognition strategy to sell games.

Kamikaze1354134d ago

I'm pretty sure EA are the ones to blame for the rushed Bioware games. Not Bioware.

Summons754134d ago

While I can a agree to a point that ea got this money is more important than fans idea in Their head, Bioware is still the only one to blame because they fell for it instead of standing up for their ideas and ambitions.

DOMination-4134d ago

For the last time.. Mass Effect is a shooter with rpg elements. Not the other way around! Yes even the first one was the same percentage action to rpg you just didn't notice because the combat was crap! There was no deeper rpg elements in the first game than in the sequels!

Frostbite 2 is impressive engine. While it does good in its PS3/X360 titles. The PC really shows its full potential at the moment. I can't wait to see what next generation consoles do with it. The engine itself is impressive.

Not sure if games coming will be impressive or not, but EA will learn they have to try to actually sell their games.

Kamikaze1354133d ago

In regards to your second comment: do you think they had a choice? I don't think they fell into EA's arms out of love. It may have been a good financial move on their part.

Karooo4134d ago

Yes, I hope Dragon Age 3 uses this.

Skate-AK4134d ago

They all ready announced that it is using Frostbite 2.

A7XEric4134d ago

Thank god. Unreal Engine looks like ass.

Dynasty4134d ago

Not really.. It's just dated.

Kennytaur4134d ago

Everything looks like plastic in UE3.

A7XEric4131d ago

Hence my original comment. Back in 2007 it was impressive, but ME2 and ME3 looked hardly cutting edge for their times.

FarCryLover1824134d ago (Edited 4134d ago )

Is Frostbite 3 going to come next-gen?

Detoxx4134d ago

Frostbite 2 was made for next gen

DeadlyFire4133d ago

The answer is yes, but not first the first few waves of titles. Likely in a few more years it will come. Frostbite 2 is by no means a slacker. Just let Dragon Age 3 show you its full visuals. :P

rickybadman4134d ago

Pretty smart move, besides the sports games, almost all the studios will be using Frosbite. Which will make it easy for teams to help out one another and with so any engineers working on one engine any advancement one studio makes, another one can benefit.

hazardman4134d ago (Edited 4134d ago )

did you forget unreal engine4 it gonna be
pretty sick.. and square has an impressive engine too

rickybadman4134d ago

I was not talking about Frostbite v. Any other engine.

I was just saying that is was smart of EA to have all their studios working with one engine for logistical and business reason. Before the switch to Frosbite, all their major studios were using different tech.

Internal studios can now help each other out, that's it. Plus they wouldn't have to pay millions in licensing fees to Epic.

Smart move all around

Fallout 4's 'next gen' update is over 14 gigs, breaks modded saves, & doesn't change much at all

We were expecting problems with mod support, but there are a lot of other issues.

isarai8h ago

Wow what the actual hell 🤣🤣🤣

just_looken7h ago

This is why you get the GOG version on gog you can select the version of the game to download.

On pc fallout 4 fallout new vegas and skyrim are all broken on steam because they all got the same "next gen" update.

Skyrim dec 2023
https://www.pcgamer.com/sky...

Can not find new vegas but anyone that modded it knows the script extender there was also broken

Valkyrye6h ago

Not accidental, they want modders to stop modding their older games to force them to mod Shitfield.

just_looken4h ago

There doing the same on starfield with a mods store and blocking mods

There goal is like blizzard and what they did with fallout 76 you make mods they can sell and you become a slave.

On skyrim they have "trusted" mod devs now basically a badge that lets your mod on the store you get a crumb of the sale when someone buys it.

Inverno2h ago

lol to the disagrees, the last Skyrim update broke mods too. They've been trying to kill mods to monetize them in creation club for years, it's not a stretch that they purposely put out patches just to break free mods.

porkChop1h ago

The disagrees are from people who have common sense. They aren't trying to kill mods. Most mods for any game will break with a new update because they rely on files/code that have been changed. This isn't new. Even with Bethesda this would happen way before the creation club. Mod support is literally one of the things that got Bethesda to where they are, and they're one of the only devs that releases comprehensive mod tools for each of their games.

Chocoburger2h ago

Over 14 GBs and doesn't change much at all? What? Taking up that much drive space for a pathetic 'remastering' is shameful.

Par for Bethesda.

Aussiesummer1h ago

It's not a remaster, it's a next gen update.

badz14951m ago

LOL people are actually expecting massive improvements or something? From Bethesda?? the same people who released Skyrim multiple times and the all look like shit? THAT Bethesda? are people for real?

Profchaos17m ago(Edited 16m ago)

The ps5 version doesn't change a ton but from my small playtime it's enough to make me want to replay it just to have it running at 60.

A side note to this my PS4 version no longer boots after it's "update" so I guess that's what it feels like to own a Bethesda game on PC

Hopefully Microsoft will go back to the original story line and get away from that woke nonsense from the last Gears game Gears of Woke! But were talking about Microsoft so all the betting money is on more of the same woke nonsense.

Sciurus_vulgaris22m ago

The Locust trilogy concluded with Gears of War 3. I don’t get how Gears 4 and 5 are “woke” .
