Metal Gear, Phantom Pain & Fish S**t

Kotaku - I'm not exactly the world's biggest Metal Gear fan, so for me, the most enjoyable thing about the reveal of The Phantom Pain (which might or might not be Metal Gear Solid 5) wasn't the game itself, but the emergence of its "CEO", Joakim Mogren. And an accompanying Twitter account.

It's almost certainly the vita version of ground zeroes. When Kojima was demoing the fox engine he did say his next project will feature transfarring. So there was a de facto announcement that ground zeroes has a vita version. That plus the weird letters behind "the phantom pain" logo have been found to spell out "Metal Gear Solid V"... not "Metal Gear Solid 5". The "V" standing for Vita cuz Kojima doesn't use Roman numerals when labeling his metal gear titles.

Although I agree it's odd for Kojima to use roman numerals I really doubt it's a Vita game. If you go to the Moby Dick studio site it says it's on PS3 and 360. on the bottom right. Here's a link http://www.mobydickstudio.s...
I understand Kojima messing with people. But I don't think lying about what console it's coming out oni is really going to do any good for anyone.

Well technically it wouldn't be lying. Again, he confirmed that his next project would use transfarring, meaning that it would be a ps3 and vita game. Also, the screens that they released are very telling.

1. The resolution of those screens are the vita's screen resolution.

2. The character models are low poly. Look closely at the screens and you'll see. Pay especially close attention to the hair.

With Rising and now Ground Zeroes in the mix, how in the world would Kojima even begin to have time for MGS 5? It's definitely a Vita title.

Sony needs a strong Vita title like MGS now more than ever with that Black Ops abomination being bundled with new systems.

He did say Ground Zeros was a prologue to Metal Gear Solid 5 after showing off the demo. I think GZ might be the intro in a way to MGS 5. Where as Phantom Pain takes place after what Ground Zero sets up.

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara176d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721176d ago (Edited 176d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus176d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

ApocalypseShadow176d ago

.... mostly with the help of PlayStation.
