If there’s one word that can be used to describe Nintendo’s Wii U, it’s ‘potential.’ The console has already proven it’s packed with plenty of great ideas. Just look at the diverse applications of the GamePad, ranging from Nintendo Land’s asynchronous multiplayer experiences to ZombiU’s core gameplay integration. Controller aside, Nintendo’s notion of a built-in social network just might change the way gamers connect with one another, and how developers can communicate with their fans.
Still, not every launch goes perfectly. Over the past couple weeks, we’ve noticed a variety of things that the system is lacking, ranging from critical hardware functionality to having definitive proof that key franchises are on the way.
