James Pikover from Gadget Review: Dead Space is one of the few truly good horror games of this console generation. Developer Visceral Games just gets the genre. To up the ante with Dead Space 3 the Montreal-based developer isn’t just relying on the new cooperative gameplay revealed at E3; everything is being overhauled.
If EA and Motive Studio plan on remaking all the main Dead Space entries, they have to change a lot of what made Dead Space 3 so divisive.
Simple, do not bother with a Dead Space 3 remake. Rather have a new entry for Dead Space.
Remaking 3 would need to be a reworked and somewhat changed remake as 3 was flawed in most peoples eyes and the worst entry.
WTMG's Kyle Nicol:
"Was Dead Space 3 really that bad?
Well, it’s a complicated question. Dead Space 3 is undeniably the weakest of the trilogy. It’s a game that deviates so far from the original formula, that it throws a lot of what made Dead Space special in the first place out of the window. Although, where it does make up for it is one of the best cooperative shooters on the market, even after all this time. Do I recommend playing this game ten years later? Hell yes. But make sure your expectations are in the right place. It has a lot of problems that bring it down."
With the upcoming Dead Space Remake, we replay and rank the original three games.

They need to seriously continue this ip with a new entry. Even if it's just another movie I don't care I love everything about this game.
Fear of finding more casual TPS moments behind every corner. Truly frightening.
Completely Coop the whole time......horrifying.
I can't have fear of turning corners because I will be too busy being a badass as I take cover and spray & pray at a bunch of enemies. It's not a horror game anymore so why should I have anything to fear?
i dont think you can really have both at the same time being strong and being weak they just don't mix
I see a lot of hate for this game. The same was said about Dead Space 2, how it would be less survival horror and more third person shooter. The Devs proved everyone wrong and that game turned out great. That being said, I know DS2 didn't have the coop but I think it will be implemented well enough in DS3 and the game will still have a lot of thrills and scares.
