Rayman Legends Preview: The King of Asymmetrical Platformers on Wii U | GenGAME

GenGAME writes: "...with all-new worlds and environments to explore on top of all that terrific content and inventive GamePad usage, I’d go so far as to say that Rayman might actually be the better choice for Wii U Game of the Year over New Super Mario Bros. U."

The Wii u should have been able to use at least four Wii u pad at the same time

Please, cut it out. If you have something legitimate to say regarding the article, then go on ahead but off-topic nitpicking is unnecessary. And to do it on nearly every Wii U article is absolutely ridiculous.

at least 8, I dont know why your standards are so low.

I liked origins so if i were gtn a wii u, this would be one of the games.. It may not be liked by many but i like getting trophies in my games.. Why doesnt this have accomplishments in it? Maybe theyll add it on later idk.. It gives games more replay value to me..

I'm sure Nintendo will add some form of trophy support.
It is an industry standard now, and those who say otherwise are in denial.

I'm hoping that they do a form of trophy that you can put on your own virtual shelf. For 100% completion on a game, you get an awesome trophy. For Mario it might be a Bowser trophy, or Metroid might have a big Sammus one.

Now I'm starting to geek out, getting all excited.

I'm not too keen on the touch controls because I enjoyed Origin's best alone. The co-op didn't feel that much of an asset to the experience and I can't see whilst on my own how having to switch between screens to push / pull obstacles is going to positively influence the platforming side of the gameplay.

I enjoyed origins, especially because it was quite challenging, really. From what I've seen of Legends that seems to have been lost somewhat.

There wasn't anything fresh or especially exiting about Origins, it was a decent but bland game with a distasteful save-state-esque progression structure.

I certainly wouldn't buy the sequel ahead of NSMBU but I might pick it up a short time afterwards if I feel like playing another side scroller.

Will There Ever Be A New Rayman Game?

Ubisoft barely have a leg to stand on lately, so do they need to crack open the vaults and return platforming royalty to glory for some goodwill?

We need Rayman 4, they could make a great platformer game if they wanted. With the open hub levels and the like.

Better than relying on Rabbids and Assassins Creed all the time

Profchaos56d ago

Yeah agree id love a Rayman 2 style 3d platform game over another 2d platformer I know people loved legends but it never gelled with me same as Rayman 1 back in the day on PS it just felt like a average platformer with sonic and Mario offering something better on what was then last gen hardware

Terry_B57d ago

Yes..but I am sure it won't be the Rayman game fans want. Not from the company that is Ubisoft today.

mastershredder57d ago (Edited 57d ago )

Ancel is retired from games. His hoodlum/rabbid team are doing their own thing. It would not be the same if Ubisoft did.

Profchaos56d ago

Probably far more profitable to make low effort Rabbids games aimed at kids over a next Rayman

Chocoburger57d ago

Experience points, skill trees to fill up, level gating, endless menial tasks and side quests, constantly scrounging for resources. Always having to upgrade your gear. A.KA. "The Ubisoft effect".

No thanks, don't ruin Rayman's legacy.

Profchaos56d ago

Sure there will be it'll launch right alongside the next splinter cell

Rayman Legends - 10 Years of Legendary Platforming

Rayman Legends made its debut 10 years ago today, and has been launched on nearly every gaming platform since.

HankHill239d ago

Too bad Ubisoft only cares about live service games now. Maybe one day they'll make a new Rayman game.

Venoxn4g239d ago

Great games.. would be cool to get qn Origins remaster at least..I know that many of the levels are in Legends, but still

Outlawzz239d ago

Loved this game but wish they would create a new Rayman 3d game.
