I dont think a game would have a rape scene in it out here.. Thats pretty intense & will get shut down before it makes it to shelves.. Anyway i know its no rape scene, cuz if it were, it wouldnt be released w/o an AO rating or released at all

bunfighterii4235d ago

There's a rape scene in the new tomb raider? Sorry I don't keep track of this game.

rezzah4235d ago

If you consider a man putting his hand on a young woman's ass rape then yea.

It does not mean that the man wouldn't have done so if Lara didn't knee him in the balls, and I think shoot him in the face.

If the situation went in his favor im sure he would have raped her. BUT this did not happen.

The Next Tomb Raider Is Allegedly Set In India, Features An "Unrestricted" Open World

The next Tomb Raider game will take place in India and will feature an "unrestricted" open world setting, based on the latest rumor.

The rumours on the new game sound awful

"A natural disaster strikes northern India revealing ancient emperor Ashoka's ruins and artifacts. Lara strategically races against a Society of Raiders and other rivals for these powerful relics. The Society of Raiders are inspired by Lara yet unaffiliated and might have some opposite agendas. This also relates to a new feature based on recruiting teams and allies to strategically aid you in missions and defeating rivals. There's emphasis on a new non-lethal combat option"

"Generic Ubigame" structure.
4 companions with their own habilities.
Open or semi-open world, not clear.
Lara would have a motorcycle, to make it easier for players to explore.
MMO elements.
5 villains, very stereotypical, including a rich man, a mob boss, and two brothers.
Familiar characters returning, Jonah Maiava and Kurtis Trent.
Lara will have a skill tree with spells.
The game is a mix of various trends and genres."

Like, do they even know what Tomb Raider is anymore. I hope it's all bullshit, not everything needs to be open world.

I really hope they do a remaster of The Last Revelation and Chronicles.

Half of this sounds like a promising TR game, the other half not so much.

Im just hoping for a TR game where Tomb Raiding is mandatory and not optional.

-Foxtrot32m ago

Considering you might end up riding around in one huge map, I feel the tombs will probably be optional and end up feeling samey with the one location

The appeal of the older TR games was going on a globe trotting adventure to new locations with smaller explorable maps which acted like a huge puzzle / obstacle course. You even had non Tomb focused levels like London or the Zoo (It's a Madhouse) which paced things out in between.

Holy cow that's some awful rumours

gold_drake59m ago(Edited 59m ago)

oh god. please dont.

lwts go bk to ... you know, tomb raiding. that would be amazing.

DOMination-56m ago

Embracer don't give a toss about this. Their CEO is a known flipper (something I've said here for years - feel free to look up my history to find it)

They purchased it for 300m, making a half-arsed game to fulfil a contract and then flipping it to Amazon for 600m

At least Gearbox ended up at T2. Lets hope Deus Ex finds a new home soon because these idiots are 10x worse than MS.

Sonic188153m ago(Edited 52m ago)

Every game doesn't have to be full open world. I'm also hearing that Resident Evil 9 will be open world as well. Semi open world would be better in certain area's I guess imo

The Best Tomb Raider Games Ranked

We've gone on many adventures with Lara Croft. With another reboot in the making, Wealth of Geeks felt it was a good time to go down the nostalgia rabbit hole and remember the best of those tomb-raiding thrills.

I do agree that Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness was the worse one 😂 I remember playing some of it and I took it back. That game was just awful in every way. I bought it used at gamestop and glad they had that 7 day return policy for used games 😂

Pyrofire9570d ago

Would it be worth saying why?

ZeekQuattro70d ago

Simple. He's been hating on the Tomb Raider reboots for years. I can't imagine seeing them at the top of a best TR game list let alone being on the list in general sitting well with him because of it.

-Foxtrot70d ago

Zeek

“Hating”

No no, just pointing out how TR mutated into a generic action adventure game losing the appeal of what it once was when it was more about puzzles and platforming over going Rambo, slaughtering waves of enemies

But hey, continue being a dick and speaking about me like I’m not going to see the comment.

MeatyUrologist70d ago

Foxtrot, I'm curious if you have played the most recent games. Sure the 2013 reboot was hugely focused on combat, but each follow up became less and less about combat to the point where outside of a few large scale story missions I don't even remember combat being a part of shadow of the tomb raider. Shadow was so puzzle focused it actually was a bit much for me and I love the TR puzzles.

I still feel like Rise was the best of the series and I was a huge fan of the originals. To me it struck the perfect balance of exploration, platforming, puzzles, and combat. Not saying your opinion is wrong I'm just curious what you think they should have done different. Games do need to evolve somewhat to stay relevant. Would you prefer small linear jumping platform levels like the original?

RavenWolfx71d ago

I would agree Rise for 1 and the reboot as 2. Shadow is a bit high, though.

Sonic188170d ago (Edited 70d ago )

I think Shadow wasn't even develop by crystal dynamics. I thought it was the worse in the new trilogy

Pyrofire9570d ago

That's right. Shadow was developed by Eidos Montreal who who went and made Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy next. (Great game)
Meanwhile after Rise of the Tomb Raider, Crystal Dynamics made Marvels Avengers. (bad game)

MeatyUrologist70d ago

Agrees. First two are correct but Shadow should be around 5-6.

terstomp70d ago

For me, Legend should be alot higher (along with the other two ). Shadow, I enjoyed it, but has too much has fluff, as modern games tend to do. Playing the remastered series, and apart from the controls, is very good.

jznrpg70d ago

I really enjoyed the first 2 games, Legend and the first of the reboots and the rest I didn’t get into so I never finished.

robtion70d ago

Completely subjective list. I really liked Underworld, I preferred Lara's design. That said I loved the horror/uncharted feel of the reboot. I think all the TR games have strengths and weaknesses. None are objectively better in every way.
