Could this Grand Theft Auto, be the Fast Five of the series? I truly believe so.

scotchmouth4550d ago

This is more or less wishful thinking.

Would it be cool if they could implement co op? I'm not entirely sure what kind of necessity it is. I don't know what they would do to make it more challenging.

In borderlands for example you get more difficult enemy types. I wouldn't expect bad guys in GTA to level up. They are human. Theoretically they are already easy to kill. This would make it far easier.

I just don't see how they could balance it or even make it more challenging.

JohnnyMann4204549d ago

Nothing to see here folks, just a kid with a cool dream and no facts to back it up.

He is using those IMDB "leaks" as truth..

Ares84HU4550d ago

The worst of the series???? Not sure...we will find out.

KaBaW4550d ago (Edited 4550d ago )

I'm not sure why you have a comma after Auto.. why you have a comma after Auto!?!

:P

princejb1344550d ago

co-op would be cool, san andreas had it even though it wasn't to good since we had to share the same screen

the more features gta5 has the better

I didn't mind the multiplayer but co-op...I'd rather not have any online in my single player mode.

It's sad to see people more interested at co-op then the amazing single player game which makes GTA ....GTA

BLACKBIBLE4550d ago (Edited 4550d ago )

I understand, but adding Co-Op to GTA would bring a different experience to the table. Thought I love GTA 4 Single player the most fun I had and I feel most people had was in the Co-op and Multiplayer Experience. I feel that most people can agree you had a lot of fun pilling into a SUV, or Helicopter with your buddies talking on other people and the would.

Truth Be told I want GTA V to be the Hottest GTA ever. Still I feel that innovations is need to the new game. A lot of Games felt they got Less in GTA 4 then in the others before it. Heck I'm still mad they took out Tanks and the military.

Spitfire_Riggz4550d ago

I remember in San Andreas I always had the two player free roam bookmarked on my map. It was so awesome doing drive bys with my buddy on ps2

TheBlackMask4550d ago

But they thing is nobody is really crying out for co-op....they have multiplayer and I think thats enough

People should look else where to get there co-op experiences from... like Saints Row 3. Not add them into already great games.

KaBaW4550d ago (Edited 4550d ago )

Agreed. I think that co-op would be awesome in Grand Theft Auto 5.
The most fun I had with GTA4 was with co-op in 'The Lost and Damned."
Heck, I wouldn't even mind if they would have a 'Co-Op Specific Campaign.'

ThanatosDMC4550d ago

It's probably because Saint Rows 3 is so much better than GTA4.

What if co-op is added to the amazing single play and makes it even MORE amazing?

Why down an enhanced experience without knowing fully what it truly offers.

I for one always wanted a co-op in gta. In fact i wish more games had co-op for the simple fact i love playing with my friends online.

tee_bag2424550d ago (Edited 4550d ago )

They need to go full campaign coop to keep my interest. Single player is fine but the same old. I have alot more fun sharing my gaming experiences with mates. GTA is the perfect universe to be able to do coop missions in - I want "did you see that?!" moments.

AbNoRmaL__aGenT4550d ago

I see what you are saying but there being all of the characters from previous games (not confirmed obviously) could make for the ultimate story. They can do what a movie like Crash did and link a bunch of sub stories together. Although if they did that, it probably wouldnt be co-op since they would be off doing their own thing and link up towards the end of the story. I think best would be without main story co-op and maybe put a co-op that is a sub story like U3. If all of the former protagonists are in fact in the game, I would expect one mission would be one character, then the next a different. Then maybe the last mission you choose which character you want to use and you see their fate. Then you go back and replay the mission to see the other character's endings.

n4gisatroll4550d ago (Edited 4550d ago )

I don't think it will be a 5 player co-op. To me, it doesn't seem possible for GTA.

CommonSense4550d ago

how does having a co-op mode prevent the story from being "amazing?"

_Aarix_4549d ago

Well guess what, you can expedience all that awesome gta stuff. But i want the option to share the experience with a friend. All they hath to do is simply connect a character with you. Whats so bad about that. Skyrim had a perfect opportunity to do it since you had a companion and stats already. Seriously, its nice to have OPTIONS.

WhiteLightning4549d ago

Who the hell would want co-op in Skyrim, Bethesda have said themselfs any online could ruin the game....are you really that needy to show off stuff with your friends online that you would want to ruin an amazing single player franchise.

You should both get Two Worlds 2 or Fable 3 if you want a co-op RPG.

It's happened before.....add online in any form into a great single player game and theres a 95% chance of it being ruined or feel dumbed down.

RE5, Dead Space 2 and Bioshock 2 for example....online went wrong.

Uncharted 2....done right

_Aarix_4549d ago

@White_lightning

Cause I'd rather not tell them what happened as oppose to having them experience it. Why do people hate co-op its just basically split screen. Uncharted and bioshock didnt have any co-op as far as Ive seen. Your thinking "Face against 10 players in a team deathmatch". No, I mean Split screen with your own screen. Gears of war 3 and borderlands did co-op right. I don't want multiplayer. I just want the option.

NYC_Gamer4550d ago (Edited 4550d ago )

i'd rather R* keep focus on making this game a true single player experience....they could allow co-op to be it's own optional separate mode though.

ChickenOfTheCaveMan4550d ago

Does Rock* have the balls to make that move?

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

ChasterMies10d ago

Some of these low paid video game “news” writers weren’t born before 2007.

just_looken10d ago

Here here

Those that were around before 2000's i am sure are like me that think we entered a world of non readers or those that follow without question.

I can not wait to see fallout 3 a goty game even though it was about water with non content until you add the dlc/updates then you got the performance/crashing

CrimsonWing6910d ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker10d ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing6910d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

Gameseeker_Frampt10d ago

Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.

2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

just_looken10d ago

It still amazes me we got over 7 rockstar games ps2/ps3 but 3 for the ps3/ps4/ps5

Dragon age 1-3 and mass effect 1-3 in 7ish years what a generation.

GTA 5’s cut “James Bond Trevor” DLC was already part-shot, actor says

The GTA 5 Agent Trevor DLC episode could have been a real treat for fans on PlayStation and Xbox, before it was scrubbed sometime before 2017.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing6912d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos12d ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Demetrius12d ago

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy8512d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius12d ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
