Ruffian Games has teased what to expect from Crackdown 3.
Producer James Cope said a third title is something the team would "love" to do. They also plan to make it a departure from previous editions, and move it away from Pacific City.
"We're looking at what we want to do in the future and Crackdown 3 is a big part of that," he said.
"For now we're focused on Crackdown 2 DLC, and the one thing I will say is what we do next, if we get to do it, is we really want to surprise people. We'd love to do another Crackdown game, but we want to make something that is genuinely going to shock and inspire a lot of people."
Darren writes: "“XBOX NEEDS EXCLUSIVES!”. Sound familiar? It’s something that has been ringing in my ears since becoming an Xbox gamer nearly 20 years ago. It’s possibly the longest standing and harshest criticism levelled against Microsoft’s console family, and I can’t say I wholly disagree. However, there are some out there which can slip through the net every now and then. But bucking the trend was the original Crackdown, which was not one of them. It shifted a very healthy amount of units as well as drawing in universal praise from critics. A sequel then, would be a no-brainer."
It was basically crackdown 1 with zombies, was fun but corners were cut, solid game though.
Crackdown 1 was one of the underrated gems of last gen. I loved that game. Crackdown 2 was crackdown 1 with added zombies and gave the map a paint job. Disappointing, but still enjoyed it for what it was with the added wingsuit, toybox mode and 4 player co-op. Crackdown 3 was basically what Crackdown 2 should have been.
While it is unclear at this time whether its a glitch or intentional. Crackdown, and Crackdown 2 are now free for download on the Xbox store.
Crackdown 1 and 2 were both given for free to Xbox One users to celebrate their launch on the Xbox Live Store and backward compatibility support for the Xbox One. In addition to giving the games for free, Microsoft is now also giving the DLC for Crackdown 2.
Cant wait for CRACKDOWN 2.
Day one purchase for me.
I will probably get Crackdown 2 when it comes out... but aren't they jumping the gun already confirming Crackdown 3. Isn't it better to wait and see if Crackdown 2 does well.
talks of a Halo sequal, Gears of War 4, Metal Gear Rising 2, GT6, Resistance 4, Fable 4 and Call Of Duty 20. Sad thing is, that all these will probably happen, not all are bad games, but this industry needs to get out of the habbit of reusing existing names and make new ones. Movie industry very rarely makes more than 3, exeptions are of course made for certain franchises but the majority of movies would be original ideas, wouldnt they? Would be interesting to see how many non sequal games are released every year as oposed to original games.
i hate when a game hasnt come out yet and the devs discuss the next game.
so does this mean crackdown 2 sucks because of all the great ideas they have for part 3. i hate when devs do this.
so now the whole time i play crackdown 2 ill be wondering what these idiots left out for the third game they are planning before the release of the second game.
I really hope Crackdown 2 delivers the first one is a classic
