TLOU2 will go down as one of the most ill-reviewed games in gaming history. We have never seen such a divide from what the big game reviewers (IGN, GameSpot, etc.) and the average gamer believe.
The game has bad pacing, unrealistic characters and story, and the gameplay is not very deep and generic.
I actually agree with John Carmack on this. There is no need to unionize and/or legislate work hours.
Believe me, these guys working on these games can pivot into any other CS industry and make 3x the money with better work hours yet a lot of people dont make the move. It's about passion.
Many are willing to go through the trenches to get into the game industry but its so small and competitive that it's already hard to break in. With unions and ...
@spicelicka great and insightful post. Contrary to popular belief, what makes Fortnite special is not the battle royale aspect, but its the building mechanics. It really does change the game and add tons of creativity to a part of shooters that was very limited, in all honesty.
The big problem with a game that deep is that the standard player is very good compared to beginners, and this alienates newcomers. Its not fun to lose that spectacularly. To circumvent that, they sh...
Yup, I knew it was coming. As I said, this next generation is the last Xbox console, either by choice (theyre going all digital, online platform) or by failure ( they don't sell enough consoles).
It's great for accessibility but for Xbox gamers, it means they will have no dog in the race anymore.
I wouldn't bet the house on that. Remember the mindsets back in the day:
- Only Nintendo characters allowed in Smash, then Sonic and Snake revealed
- Only characters from non-fighting games, Ryu revealed
- Only characters that appeared on Nintendo platform, Cloud revealed
- Only characters where at least the series has been on the platform, Joker revealed
The fact that he didn't outright deny it leaves the possibility. But even if...
Steam didn't have to because they were essentially the first. I dont anticipate that they will keep the same strategy forever. They are just spending to build their base. I opersonally understand it, and it stands to benefit more people than Steam ever could.
Publishers still suffer just not on the scale of an indie studio.
"If Steam committed to a permanent 88% revenue share for all developers and publishers without major strings attached, Epic would hastily organize a retreat from exclusives (while honoring our partner commitments) and consider putting our own games on Steam." -Tim Sweeney
Holy cow, I knew this was good for developers but dang, EGS is really about keeping what you make!
You know what you are right. That is a part of why it was successful because the game has changed dramatically from the base Fortnite. But I still think that the building was the main reason why people stayed. But I don't even want to discredit the weapon balance and gunplay in Fortnite. And for the guy saying that its about what's cool, I am not so sure about that because we have seen paid advertisers and streamers taken control of the zeitgeist but peopl...
I told you all that Apex Legends was not a Fortnite killer. If you look at the two games from a design point-of-view, Fortnite has a LOT more depth. The ability to build adds defense to a genre that lacked creative ways of implementing defense. Building adds another dimension of creativity to shooter. I can understand why some don't like it, but when it comes to longevity of a game, we need creativity and depth. The Apex Legends formula is just Overwatch + PUBG + Titanfall without really ...
The guy is a POS, but free speech is not to protect speech you like. I understand this is a private company but losing access to games that you purchased yourself is one of the many reasons to NEVER buy digital.
Digital games are a rental. You own but a license to play it as long as the servers are up and running, and for not violating the Terms of Service, which are subject to change at any minute
I criticized Google for this, assuming they would do thi...

Not sure what that has to do with FFVII:Remake?
Anyways, this is a bombshell because everybody assumed FFVIIR would be multiplatform, and it's not! Huge win for Sony.
I'm sure in a few years it'll come out, but maybe it could be a gen after its released

@quent
The post was supposed to illustrate that the whole "it is only ___ characters allowed" holds up until it doesnt.
@Wolffenblitz
Yeah I know. But even if he wasn't, thered still be a chance.

Rebellion is speaking big facts.
Nothing wrong with his Mr. T-ness. My problem with the voice is it sounds like a white guy trying to do a black guy voice so it sounds wonky.

HAHAAH it sure is gonna rustle some jimmies. Relax Nintendo fans, I'd be willing to bet P5R will come to the switch either eventually or right away.
