Isn't the whole point of pay to play to NOT have any sort of cash shop? I know it's just extra trinkets now, but if this is successful, they'll probably move on to having gachapons. A gacha in mmos is paying for a CHANCE to get a certain item(s) out of a pool of items. People love dressing up their characters, so square can easily bait people with cool clothes.
Personally, I didn't bother getting past 21. I hate that you need to find equipment with lights to level up at that point. I don't hate the game and had fun with it, but that leveling up mechanic turned me off to attempting to do the "end game" stuff.

There's many sides to this issue:
First you have the older gamers, who complain about games not being amazing. These are the people that witnessed many of gamings leaps and bounds (from 2d to 3d, analog stick, CD games, etc). Games are the same or not hard for these people because they grew up with games and know what to expect. They want to be put back in the glory days again but can't because they're old. Fewer games give them a good gaming high.
These figures are optional GIMMICKS!
It's a fun little side activity for those who get a little bored with just playing smash 1v1 or something all the time. I won't be training any amiibos myself, but I wouldn't mind testing my skill against super high level CPUs (for smash or any other game).
Especially if we could to 2 vs 2, Amiibo vs humans, that would be really fun IMO.

The fact of the matter is, NINTENDO PICK THE GAME UP. NOT M$ or Sony. "If only Sony got it, then we'd have Bayonetta on ps4." True, but that's all in the past now. If this game doesn't sell well, we might not get a Bayonetta 3 (which might make Sega put it on the ps4/xbone).
You have to give Nintendo credit for also putting Bayonetta 1 on the wiiu. I'm sure that port costs extra. I highly doubt Sony or M$ would've done that. They gave that game...
Reviews are just opinions. Not EVERYONE is obligated to love a game. So if you read a review and that reviewer didn't like the game, you're not obligated to agree. There are several low score games I like and there are several high scoring games I absolutely dislike. Just play what you like.

The only reason I'd personally give it a 7/10 would be because the game LAGGED IN LOCAL MULTIPLAYER! From my experience with the demo, 4 players local was terrible as it would lag to the point of looking like a slide show. It's not like we were far away either, unless sitting at the same table in a cafe was too far. 3 players seemed to be the 3ds limit.
Maybe it's just because it's the demo, but I'll find out tomorrow how hard this game lags in local.
Most DLC is deliberately held back. Capcom showed us that light and how evil a company can get with abusing DLC rights.
What kids these days don't understand is that there was a time when games didn't have updates and HAD TO BE COMPLETE. Characters and costumes were FREE and all you had to do what PLAY THE GAME TO UNLOCK THOSE THINGS.

I really don't think this is going anywhere and for a change they want, it's a big deal. Games are ridiculously expensive to make and game play changes destroy whatever schedules they're working on. Fans kinda have to understand that if the director/company wants to make it a certain way...they'll make it a certain way.
Let's see if they learned what NOT to do from their experience with F13 and FF14.
I don't think I'd buy it again. The main game wasn't that great and the online was horrible. They still haven't added in heists yet right?
REALLY? People are REALLY complaining that there are too many sword characters? He says it himself, 10 out of the 38 use swords. If it was 20 out of 38, then I can understand, but only about 1/4 of the entire roster consists of sword wielders! How is that too many? Is this just a cover up because the author is butt-hurt over Shulk being in the game and not a sword character he likes such as Isaac or Lloyd?

The biggest mind blowing video game thing I've witnessed was probably Mario 64. It wasn't the first 3d game ever made or anything like that, but it was the first one I played that really showed what the future of games were going to be like with that thumb stick.
This was probably the biggest leap I can recall in terms of both interactivity and graphics. Going from sprites to 3d models was just way more excited that just getting higher resolution and better frame rate...
With Capcom dying, I kinda see this as a desperate move. They recently tried to sue Tecmo for some money. They're FINALLY listening to fans...kinda...with this HD-re-REmake. I was honestly expecting them to HD-remake all 3 RE games and sell it for $60.
But then again, this is capcom. The same company who sold the real ending to Asura's wrath. The same company that charged us for disk locked content. We can't forget how they killed an icon, mangled their franchise...
