I dislike COD mainly because of the gaming crowd that's stereotypically associated with it. From my personal experience, when casual people think of gamers, they think of 360 and Halo or COD. COD in particular is being blamed for kids going crazy and shooting people with guns they somehow acquired (in one case, the gun was given to a kid AS A GIFT).
In the West (particularly the U.S.), most gamers love guns. Shooting and using powerful ranged weapons is a very American ...
Well, capcom's consumer relationship has been extremely shaky this tail end of the generation. Many of the capcom games I played just felt incomplete or bare (MVC3+SFxTK) or were actually good...but then Capcom found some way to kill it (Asura's Wrath DLC REAL ENDING).
Capcom has screwed themselves over with shady DLC practices, killing off a gaming icon (megaman), and changing their games drastically to appeal to casual gamers (RE5-6 and DmC:dmc). They've pissed...
I don't think the leap from ps3 to ps4 will be that great. I wasn't blown away by the ps4's games. Shadowfall looked pretty, but didn't catch my interest. Dragons dogma/Deep down looked pretty...but that's a capcom game and I don't trust Capcom. Knack and the others didn't "blow me away" graphically at all.
Like the Wii-u, There really isn't anything I've seen with the ps4 that makes me want the system. I'll eventually get on...
Pretty good trailer.
Wasn't there suppose to be more (good) megaman news from capcom for this year?
There are a bunch of over-rated games out there and it's based on opinion really.
1.) Dark/Demon souls
2.) Dead Island/Fall out NV
3.) Dishonored
4.) Bioshock Infinite
5.) God of War 3 and Ascension
I'm pretty old school and did like that handheld games were completely different from console games. I would like the vita to have its own games, but I do see how it can be nice to take your game on the go. The only problem with the latter is that, well, I'd rather just buy 1 system (ps3/4) to play that game on the big screen.
Vita's cross-play shouldn't be at the forefront of what the vita can do. It should be it's own exclusive games that makes it its o...
Games, in general, do not NEED stories since their gameplay is what people play them for. Does a racing game need a story? Does a platformer need a story? Puzzle game? COD/Bf?
Stories to any game is a nice addition. Although I dislike Nether realm's fighting mechanics (primarily Mk9), I do love the story mode and other extras they have in the game. They turned a typical fighting game into a hefty fighting game. Not all people play games the same. Some people play fightin...
It's not the view point that makes the game boring, it's the story or setting.I got bored and tired of always seeing modern military or zombie games (especially zombie games). First person or not, the gameplay and setting is what makes me bored of a game. After playing a slew of zombie games, the last major zombie game I played through was probably Dead island. I found that game ridiculously boring, stupid, and tedious (soloed the game). Left4dead, Dead rising, Zombi-u, and zombie mod...
Graphics > Gameplay
That kinda how I interpreted Heavy Rain, the demo for Kara, and Beyond: 2 souls. Playing Heavy Rain felt restrictive to the point where it was just like watching a movie. Personally, that restrictiveness took me out of the story completely. I just didn't care or feel involved in the story at all.
I whole heartily agree that this game isn't an evolution at all. The evolutionary leap for this sort of game happened with Shenmue, I...
I have a problem with DLC in general. Most of that crap is already on the disc and are premade or ripped from the game to sell off. Most DLC stuff, like costumes, would've been UNLOCKABLES just a generation ago (ps2/gc/xbox1). Today's unlockable content are stupid trophy/achievement messages. We went from actual content that adds a little more to the game (Cheats, costumes, etc.), to getting a "You killed 100 monsters. GOOD JOB!" message.
There is good DLC ...
Smash bros NEEDS MORE FEMALE CHARACTERS!
Brawl DID NOT have any new female characters at all.
"Zero suit Samus is new!"
No she isn't. She's a different form of an already existing character, much like Zelda and Sheik.
Thought I had to make that point clear. IMO, Bayonetta and a slew of other female characters NEEDS to be added to the smash bros. roster. Why? Because Nintendo does have a huge roster of fema...
Who said girls with big boobs aren't strong? The DOA girls, if I recall correctly, have never SUBMITTED to any man. Each of them is pretty independent. It's alright for Wonder Woman to have huge melons and show it off, but bad when a character with less of a history (particularly DOA girls) it is disgusting.
Boobs isn't the problem at all, it's the history of the character; their story. If the girl is just there to be a man's trophy, I can understand why...
Games are all increasing in terms of quality.Games evolve over time and quality does increase. It takes at least a hundred people to make a decent game these days. So, technically, quality in games have been increasing. Every game has been raising the bar in some aspect, may it be graphically or with content. Budget and man power doesn't automatically mean better though. Heavy Rain looked amazing, but I thought that game was stupid and boring. Xenoblade is a wii game and looks muddy, but ...
FF13-2 was in improvement over FF13. Gone were those horrible hallways and annoying characters (Snow and Hope being the most annoying), in were better developed characters. You get an idea of what each is fighting for. The story was EXTREMELY forced. Lighting getting called upon by a GOD at the end of ff13? Completely out of no where! What I did Like about FF13-2 was the combat, the music, and the stages. Getting straight to the end took about 20 hours, but there was a lot of side stuff to do...
IMO, games feel easier to us because we have experience. I'm pretty sure most of use at least grew up on the snes. Back then, games were made with gamers in mind. It was a test of skill and also the system limitations made games hard. Castlevania was our generation's Dark/Demon Souls. We use our past experience when we play newer games and that's why they feel easy...because we've already done something similar before. We know that pits will kill you, spikes might kill you, an...
That list was just plain terrible.
The only one that I'd like to see would be the Uncharted and Tomb Raider one. Maybe add a sprinkle of Asscreed to spice things up?
To be honest, I'm not expecting anything major from Square's jpn studios. Not saying they're not good at what they do, but So far they're giving us an HD port and another sequel to a game that DOES NOT NEED A SEQUEL (FF13-3)! They screwed up FF13...why are they releasing sequels to try to "fix" what they messed up on? Why not...Idk...RELEASE FF13VS instead of revisiting FF13 again?
Then there are games like FFZero that should've been released ove...
I don't think that this is the best generation at all. At the start, M$ came out with a faulty system. The ps3 was super expensive and the wii "abandoned" it's core audience in favor of bringing in casual gamers and expanding the market even more.
Xbox live isn't as secure as people make it to be. It can get hacked just as bad as Sony, not to mention all the reports of people hacking Xbox live accounts. No where on the internet is completely safe. I do ...
I'm sure a good chunk of those sales were Xbox replacements because of the RROD and other faults.
This type of DLC in general is bullcrap. Why do fighting game makers insist on selling people characters? All the characters are needed on the roster to complete the game. Costumes is something that isn't needed as much as a character in a fighting game. Characters are like chess pieces. This isn't as bad as what Capcom did with SFxTK, but it's still pretty stupid imo.
This is sadly the way of the future. What was once free unlockable stuff is now DLC. Releasing ...
