I'd care about it, but the reality is I can't, and I don't. I couldn't care less if the PS3 even provided the smell of grass... in the end, it's just grass, endless, boring....grass. and if it can't be incorporated into a REAL game, not a glorified TECH DEMO, then it's useless, no matter how pretty.

If Bethesda is going to play favorites like this, then they won't be getting my money in the future. It's one thing to not release the game at all on a particular platform, it's another entirely different thing to release the game on many platforms but only support some of them.
You're absolutely right ! Having such a fractured "Trophy" library completely invalidates the entire system. I can understand that all companies/games didn't jump immediately on the Trophy bandwagon, but Sony should ENSURE that ALL games will EVENTUALLY support trophies. If the original companies don't want to step up, Sony themselves, should.

I agree 100%. After downloading the RE5 demo on both systems for myself, and playing it on the same TV with the same settings and the same HDMI cable, it's clear that the 360 outperforms the PS3 version on almost every level. As I go back and rent/buy used 360 games that I own for my PS3 as well to compare, there hasn't been a single multiplatform game that looks better on the PS3 compared to the 360. Another way to look at it is that Sony (Playstation) is *still* playing catch up, getting more XBox "scraps" even 2 years after its release. Wow a sequel, how lucky Playstation owners are that they can jump into a story already in progress. Yep, Sony has really struck a blow against Microsoft with that one. I can't wait to have no idea what's going on because, as a Playstation 3 owner, I get scraps and hand-me-downs from the 360 and didn't have a chance to play the previous game(s)....
This is looking like it's a blatant lie on the part of Sony as they went out of their way to make a post on their official blog and there hasn't been a hint of it since. As the days go on and the failed promises pile up, I'll be surprised if Sony makes it to the next gen. I've all but abandoned my PS3. It now gathers dust unless I want to watch a blu-ray (of which I've also lightened my purchases) and I'll never recommend it as an option to friends and family.

No, I haven't tried and it could very well be a possible solution. There's always the issue that if I uncheck 720p, some games won't upscale, then I have the hassle of going in to readjust it for every second game... nah, I don't want to play that game, and I shouldn't really have to... the PS3 should just upscale everything, it's uber-powerful, right ?

As a PS3 launch owner and a very recent (Post Christmas) XBox 360 owner, without a doubt, I enjoy my 360 much more. Sony just isn't stepping up to the plate and I loathe features that are implemented with a half assed attitude (namely fragmented Trophy library and developer discretion Custom Soundtracks). There aren't even any local custom soundtrack...
The truth is that Microsoft does corner the "business desktop" world (outside of the basic consumer desktop world). In most cases, if you go behind someone's desk at any given business, there is a 98% chance they're running Windows. It's rather unbelievable. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that it would sell quite a bit better on the PS3 than on the Wii and that's with current install base for both. It just doesn't strike me as something people are going to be buying on their Wii.
I have a Wii and I'll never buy this game. I buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo games... I have a PS3 (and now more recently a 360) for "real" gaming.

Personally, I'm going to stay away from Squeenix games for a while. The quality hasn't been there. Sure, the games look spectacular, but story, character development, and the battle systems have been weak in the past few years, or compared to what I enjoy, so I'm looking forward to ANY mmo that isn't Final Fantasy (or WoW for that matter). Alot of my friends share similar sentiments about Squeenix. It'll be interesting to see how well it does though.
