I am talking about console sales rather than copies of the game.
I found muting the tv and only watching for the flash made it much easier :) but all fun no matter how frustrating it got.
I am excited to play ground zero as I am a huge MGS fan and 200x bigger gets me very very excited for phantom pain.
Personal opinion and I am probably in the minority but I think it will keep it on life support that bit longer as for a full revival you only have to look at the n64 and gamecube to see that it sells systems but not an insane amount.
That being said I will be picking up a wii u for this haha

Use the term "Game Journalists" loosely a lot of them are just opinionated bedroom bloggers.
There are many writers who generally care about the industry and have in depth and detailed opinions on the whatever topic they write about, but we as a culture choose the sites that are headlined with flamebaited.

It's an insanely good deal! TF isn't my kind of thing and it's not very original but te deal is very hard to pass up if it is your thing! I know a few of my friends will jump at the chance.
They gave it an 8.5 but some things they threw up were pretty unjust.
It's a great game and homage to the older final fantasies, still play it to this day.

Quite frankly even though the sales are good and of course the ps4 will release some killer jrpgs I don't think it will.
The Japanese market is a strange one atm i am not sure what they want other than handhelds.

I think the best thing about Final Fantasy is everyones ability to choose a unique top ten based on how they experienced each game.
E.G 8 is my favourite followed by 9 not cause they are perfect games but I connected and followed the story much more closely and when I was playing it my best friend at the time was too so it was a really enjoyable experience.
In short no one is wrong for choosing a different top ten than you.

Obviously there are no certain ways to determine how many bought a console purely for a game but:
The n64 sold: 32.93 million units and sold 5 million games coming out in 1999 by then the n64 had already been out for 3 nearly 4 years, most of the hardcore fans had already bought the system most likely. Its a similar story with the gamecube as well based on number of units and when the console and game were released.
