Pretty solid so far. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the towns and areas look after Nibelheim.
I was never thrilled with the idea of Bloober handling this, but part of me thought that it could actually work given their pedigree with creating atmosphere. Seems as if it stops there, though. You're right, every Bloober game I've played had zero combat as I recall; only minor stealth and walking basically.
Maybe they can fix it.
"Never about combat" yet it had... combat.
Even if you want to make the silly argument that combat was only a secondary support implement, why make excuses for it being subpar? We want every part of a game to be the best that in can be, don't we?
Sometimes fans really work against themselves.
Agreed.
I am so impressed with Bluepoint after the Demon's Souls remake, which is still my favorite PS5 exclusive. They really knocked it out of the park with Shadow of the Colossus as well. I would trust Bluepoint with any of my favorite franchises.
Bloober has made what are best described as cult classics, but truthfully their games haven't even reached that level of popularity. They've managed to climb over the sea of indie-horror devs and games to reach industry noticeability, probably due to crafting compelling atmospheres. Their games tend to suffer narratively, however.
Layers of Fear and Observer are probably their most widely known games.
Yes, it looks quite mediocre. Textures, gore effects, sound, animations - all of these are poor to middling. Those guns don't sound punchy at all and the enemy responses are just flat. I will give them credit on the general atmospherics though; they do look nice. Very unimpressive as a package though.
If I had to guess I'd say it's going to be pure damage control dealing with all the third party talk.
You're not wrong.
While what she said in the interview is true, to completely ignore Tifa's looks was a bit strange.
Gaming seems to be heading in a smart, gamer-prioritized direction.
Yes.
So excited for this one.
Another weird and wonderful Kojima experience.
Just free-to-play it and go wild with the micros.
Shame is almost non-existent in today's society. Now it's about doing as much damage as possible before the truth is discovered, and then either not apologizing, or doubling down.
I want the Ultimate Gold Microtransaction Edition.
Agreed; I like her too.
At some point people have to forgive each other or they just wind up in cycle of never ending senseless violence. I'd say all these people are trauma-laden at this point.
Violence in response to a slur is absolutely inappropriate under any circumstances, fr0sty.
Ha. Wouldn't the violence you're advocating for be the ultimate toxicity?
This is great news!
This is likely because I've delivered a hefty share of criticism regarding this "Remaster" in the past, which likely led to injured feelings and 'distrust' among the PlayStation/TLOU faithful in this community.
I only had criticism for the campaign, and I honestly find No Return to be very worthwhile. I've always been a fan of Factions as well.
It's the recipe of fair difficulty, presentation, boss battles and lore that attract me to these games. The From Souls games have always had a nebulous quality to them that I find fascinating. Demystifying them is a big part of the fun.
