In fairness, it hasn't been officially announced by EA yet but was found amongst the PC files.
Mind you, GT5 also scored lower than expected on a lot of sites. 8 and above is still good for a niche game.
Personally, I have a wheel stand pro at www.wheelstandpro.com - relatively inexpensive compared to the full seat setup and is very sturdy and adjustable. Depends how serious you are about your driving games, I guess.
In some areas yes, but definitely not in regards to the car list.

I can't get Fortunate Son out of my head thanks to this game either.

Hardly. 8/10 is still a respectable score, but people expect more from a GT game and the fact remains it didn't quite live up to its astronomical expectations.
The AI still leaves a lot to be desired, I admit.
He has a point, the environment graphics are lacking sometimes.
If that was the case they would have removed his appearance entirely.

What's weird though is that early shots of the menu clearly showed an event entitled "Stig challenge" or something similar...
I meant as a playable driver. And yeah, the events don't really fit the Top Gear theme. VW camper van race at 50mph anyone?
Yeah, it feels like having the license was a bit of a missed opportunity. No rolling starts, no Stig, lack of authentic camera angles and of course no reasonably priced cars.
It's still tremendous fun just to drive round it, however.
Easily the best NFS game in years.
