My hope is that with episodic content like this, the emphasis will start to go on story instead of just gameplay. Games are starting to become a great medium for storytelling, but high production costs mean the game has to be long and expensive, which makes it harder to tell a compelling and cohesive story. Hopefully if developers get their engines sorted out, they can then go and make shorter, cheaper and more frequent stories without having to spend resources improving the graphics.

Nowhere near as bad as Smarties Meltdown or Crazy Frog Racer.

Fitting. I just watched Taxi Driver last night.

True. Nintendo take the most risks in terms of hardware. I'd say Sony takes the most risks with software, supporting games like okami, the Katamari games, music games like frequency and guitar hero and so on. They also made the eyetoy of course, and there are dance mats, light guns and the buzz controllers.
I haven't seen MS support anything anywhere near as innovative or risky until it has already been a success. Their only innovation was Live which I personally don't count as very ris...

Well the party system is pretty cool, but in practice it probably will be useless, as you will only be able to play games that you all own. Also, usually the only time I want to get a party together it's to play a certain game. Of course, if it's easier to swap over to another game, maybe that'll change things.

Also, considering PSN offers dedicated servers for free, then I disagree, that wouldn't justify the price.

It's not a masterpiece. The ending is utterly, utterly appauling. Completely ruined it for me. I can never look at it the same way again.

Might be wrong but I'm pretty sure Bioshock is only compatible with a 360 controller. Trying it out now anyway.

Sounds like Sony just b17ch-slapped SE

Edit: Or not, according to #6.

Thank you for being more optimistic :D

The graphics are really 'next gen' (brown) but come on, the combat system hasn't improved at all upon Resi 4, and even then it was a bit dodgy. It's starting to look really, really lame when the zombies slow down once they get near you.

Anyone can play Spore. It's not exactly a high spec game. Plus it would be truly awful with a controller so you def. don't want it on the 360.

This is on every third party controller EVER and they're acting like it's new!

With a p90 it won't make any difference how fast you press it.... just hold the button down...
And MP5s and UZIs have smaller clips so you'd be reloading far more often...

"For people that has never ever played a MGS game thought the game was just ok (And i am one of them). For people that is a fan of MGS they thought the game was GOD."

Dude my friend who has never played another MGS game said MGS4 was god. He just doesn't own a 360. Or a PS3 or a Wii in fact.

And why do you care about stats so much? Look at the crap that sells millions on the Wii!

The ending is lame.

If you weren't so heavily biased against MGS4, and if you played it (ie If you had a PS3), you would very quickly understand why long cutscenes are good. MGS4 is more than most games. Not just different. It's not just a matter of preference. Even if you find the story a little odd for your taste, you will still realise that this game is the template for future gaming. It's symbiotic you see. The cutscenes enhance the gameplay, and the gameplay enhances the cutscenes. You're given a sense of p...

No 18 rating?! How do they rate GTA!?

6183d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

MK I must confess I still haven't even played AC (You know I'm waiting for the sequel so they can iron out any kinks) but I stopped playing GTA because of repetitive missions, despite it being one of the most technically impressive games ever, and despite it being good fun. Not all games are that repetitive, and it really can ruin some otherwise fantastic games if they are. When almost every reviewer, and even friends of mine who say they love it, complains of it being repetitive, I know it's...

The graphics were no good except for the closeups, and even then all the players all look oddly sinister...

Don't really see enough gameplay difference to justify a sequel. More like an expansion pack. Of course you can't really do that on consoles. The annoying thing is that all the people playing online will switch over so if you want to play Gears online at all you'll probably have to shill out for the sequel. I cba myself. Not that good a game any more and I'll have plenty of other games keeping me busy when this releases.
