Every console generation winner is a console that was for the core and the casual... ONline hasnt changed this. Just look at sales this gen for proof. Nintendo core games still sale and their casual games sale as well and they have the most consoles sold.

My guess is that you were not around for the showing of the Wii remote. Nintendo did the exact same thing with it. They showed the controller one year then the next they showed the actual console itself.

If I buy soemthing on Steam today and 5 years down the road I want to play it again I simple download it. Some DRMs only allow for 3-5 isntalls before you need to buy again. Those are the kinds I try to avoid.
